I can’t believe it’s been just over a year since Social Settings started! This year has been amazing, working with so many wonderful local vendors and making friends along the way. It has brought people into my life that I am so grateful for and opportunities that I never expected.

Life is a constant journey of change and growth, that’s the beauty of being human. What started as a tablescapes rental business morphed into the addition of Saskatoon’s first candy cart, the Sweetcart! Saskatoon embraced the cart whole heartedly, leading to the second one being built for .sask! To everyone who has supported this little business, thank you! 2023 is bringing change into my life as I embark on a career in real estate ()! I will continue to operate Social Settings, so please reach out if you’re needing tablescape rental, the Sweetcart for your next event or a house 😉

Winter is coming and boy, do we feel it this morning! Bring on the stews, roasts, and pies 🥧 Celebratory family dinners at my granny and papa’s always involved preparing the table, polishing the silverware, and carefully placing the fine china. My granny was always buzzing around preparing the day of 🐝 If only there was a way to get some help with the table prep and dishes… 💡

Getting a little personal & *sweary*…

With October brings a lot of emotion. In October 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer ( for the full rundown). As much as I LOVE this month, it will always be a reminder of how our lives changed forever. I am immensely grateful for the second chance at life but know this f*cking disease can pop up at any moment. While treatments have evolved by leaps and bounds, and there are incredibly promising trials down the pipeline, it still haunts me that I could face a reoccurrence at any moment. Even more terrifying is that my family and friends could face the same s**t. Once you’ve gone through it, you can’t imagine watching someone you love battle the same fight.

Over the past 10 months since launching Social Settings, a few of my followers have also been diagnosed. So, for the month of October, 20% of any bookings made will be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Foundation to go towards incredible research happening in our province. The research provides so much hope for those in active treatment and survivors who are waiting with bated breath for a reoccurrence.

One of the last times the Sweetcart will be outdoors for the season and the set up was stunning 🤩

The client planned and hosted a gender reveal for her sister that was simply breathtaking! Balloon Stylist 🎈]] created not only a garland for the cart but also an entire display next to it with , bringing the clients vision to life (check Balloon Stylist 🎈]] page for the full set up!).

I absolutely love seeing the creativity clients bring to the cart, and how excited they are to share the final product with me when I pick up! I will always be so grateful for the opportunity to help you create memories for the special moments in your lives 🤍

August rolled in and our son let out an agonizing sigh when he realized summer break is half over. I feel the same-packing school lunches got me like 🫠

In the mean time, we’ll be trying to soak up as much summer as possible but I am also looking forward to fall. September seems to go by at a slower pace, NFL 🏈 starts up and I love the moody tones as the season changes 🍁

If you’re planning a gathering of up to 24, this setting is available and September is open 🗓 To add a warmer fall feel, copper cutlery is available🍴As always, I take care of the set up, clean up and dishes 🧼 🫧 All you have to do is enjoy the company of your guests. DM to reserve your spot!

How amazing does this 1st birthday set up look?! ✨It’s been a busy week but I had to share this set up🤍

I had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest family this week when I set up the Sweet Cart for a lucky little one year old. The kids eyes lit up when they saw the cart set up, they jumped and hugged each other when they realized what was going on. My heart 🤍. I can’t imagine the look on their faces once it was decorated and the candy jars were filled! The birthday girl’s mama transformed the space into a candy land dream to celebrate🍭 🍬🍿

The options are endless for this little cart and I love seeing all your creative ways of dressing her up 💁🏼‍♀️

Just as summer is starting to arrive (finally!!), I’m already thinking ahead to fall 🍂 There is one weekend left, with some weekdays available, for July and August- DM to inquire on those spots or for the fall! Hoppy Easter 🐣 It’s just our son and I for Easter morning this year, but still wanted to make it a memorable one. After a good egg hunt we set the table and whipped up a brunch to share and graze on throughout the morning 🍓 🍊 🍇
