It’s a sad day as our family says good-bye to our dog Murphy. He was 13 years old, so a long life for a lovely guy. 🥹
Murphy was a gentle giant who could sense our emotions. Happy, sad, scared or mad. He always just knew when to be there for us. And he never barked.
He came from Cumberland House, they found him in a cardboard box and the PA SPCA took him in.
I discovered Murphy online because I was watching to find the perfect puppy for my son Tommy. I called and said I will be there today before 6:00 PM. Then I left work early to pick Murphy up, so exicted!
Murphy’s terrier fur, kind eyes and Mr. Mugs colours captivated everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him!
We had so much fun! Murphy watched the children grow into adults, and we all said he was more like a human than a dog.
We walked many laps around the Kinsmen Park pond. He once went after geese in that pond, we thought he was done for! My dad was visiting and we were scared he would become exhausted after swimming laps for 40 minutes.
Murphy got off leash and took off for two hours chasing a rabbit once. He finally made it back home, sitting on the doorstep and panting like he’d ran a marathon!
As mom said to me on the phone tonight “he did more for us than we ever did for him.”
Good-bye old buddy. ❤️🌈🐾
