Happy Halloween family and friends 👻

We have a fabulous day ahead for all of those "Trick to Treaters" to be out and about tonight!

Do you dress up for work or just because?? I might dress up at Richard Simmons or Jane Fonda for Bootcamp tonight but that is as close as I will get. It's hard to find a costume suitable for working in a kitchen.

It's National Candy Apple day. Have you ever made them? Do you remember eating one as a kid and being sticky from head to toe? This happened once and the pink teeth afterwards too!

What happens to all of the candy you have leftover tonight? Do you eat it, do the hunters take it with them, do you bake with it? I used to freeze all of the chocolate bars that I could bake with, freeze them then the hunters helped Will polish off the rest.

Good morning family and friends,

I really expected to see white on the ground as my day starts. Yesterday's cold rain and drop in temperatures, had me thinking the ground would not just be covered in leaves.

If we can get through today Mother Nature will be sharing some warmer temperatures mid week.

Good morning family and friends,

I know it's a sleep in day for many however, for those who are awake, have you checked out the moon? It's a bright shining sliver 🌙 with a sky full of stars 🌟.

Who is counting down? 6 sleeps until Halloween, 7 to Ladies (and men are welcome too) Night, 8 until time change and 9 until the start of Deer hunting season. All of this is happening in the next couple of weeks.

It's National Mincemeat day. Are you a fan of this? I don't mind a mincemeat tart now and then. Have you ever made mincemeat?

Has anyone seen any flocks of geese starting to make their trek south? I have heard them in the creek but not in the sky. Just curious

A friend posted this question -- Do you put raisins and walnuts/ pecans in carrot cake? My suggestion is raisins in the cake and nuts on top of the icing. What are your thoughts??

Surprise, surprise it's foggy out again to start our day and raining too! The latter was not in the last forecast I saw. This is okay the laundry is getting an extra rinse on the line and I will figure out things to do inside.

What are your plans for today?

Are you ready for a beautiful weekend ahead? Do you have more outside projects all lined up or are you planning on spending as much time outside just enjoying the sunshine, the colours and doing everything possible in the outdoors?

I will be doing some work outside in and out around my planned activities plus Charlie and I will enjoy the trail. The zucchini plants are still doing well anyone else having vegetables still going?

It's National Whole Hog day! Have you ever been to a pig roast? Where was it? Each place has their own version of "whole hog"

Good morning family and friends,

Who is seeing white to start off the day? Yes it's definitely frosty out. Tonight we could see more frost then back up to the high teen temps for a few days.

Have you caught a glimpse of the full moon? It will be at it's fullest at 6:26am. Go quick and take a look now while you have the chance.

This is the Hunter's moon. According to the Old Farmers Almanac, this is the time of year hunters start to put food away for the winter. This totally makes sense as it's the harvest season.

Good mornign family and friends,

Are you celebrating your Thanksgiving today or trying to figure out what to do with the leftovers or maybe both?

I brought home some ham, with the wind breezing along to start our day, I was thinking ham and pea soup might just hit the spot with homemade biscuits. Also I might cook up some chicken breasts later so I can make tetrazzinni, chili, potpie with it or......

What are you turning leftovers into?? So many possibilities.
