Happy Halloween family and friends 👻

We have a fabulous day ahead for all of those "Trick to Treaters" to be out and about tonight!

Do you dress up for work or just because?? I might dress up at Richard Simmons or Jane Fonda for Bootcamp tonight but that is as close as I will get. It's hard to find a costume suitable for working in a kitchen.

It's National Candy Apple day. Have you ever made them? Do you remember eating one as a kid and being sticky from head to toe? This happened once and the pink teeth afterwards too!

What happens to all of the candy you have leftover tonight? Do you eat it, do the hunters take it with them, do you bake with it? I used to freeze all of the chocolate bars that I could bake with, freeze them then the hunters helped Will polish off the rest.

Okay so the sun didn't stick around yesterday as long as I had planned but it did warm up some. Double digits will take us into the weekend.

I really expected to see white on the ground as my day starts. Yesterday's cold rain and drop in temperatures, had me thinking the ground would not just be covered in leaves.

If we can get through today Mother Nature will be sharing some warmer temperatures mid week.

I know it's a sleep in day for many however, for those who are awake, have you checked out the moon? It's a bright shining sliver 🌙 with a sky full of stars 🌟.

Who is counting down? 6 sleeps until Halloween, 7 to Ladies (and men are welcome too) Night, 8 until time change and 9 until the start of Deer hunting season. All of this is happening in the next couple of weeks.

It's National Mincemeat day. Are you a fan of this? I don't mind a mincemeat tart now and then. Have you ever made mincemeat?

Has anyone seen any flocks of geese starting to make their trek south? I have heard them in the creek but not in the sky. Just curious

A friend posted this question -- Do you put raisins and walnuts/ pecans in carrot cake? My suggestion is raisins in the cake and nuts on top of the icing. What are your thoughts??

Surprise, surprise it's foggy out again to start our day and raining too! The latter was not in the last forecast I saw. This is okay the laundry is getting an extra rinse on the line and I will figure out things to do inside.

Are you ready for a beautiful weekend ahead? Do you have more outside projects all lined up or are you planning on spending as much time outside just enjoying the sunshine, the colours and doing everything possible in the outdoors?

I will be doing some work outside in and out around my planned activities plus Charlie and I will enjoy the trail. The zucchini plants are still doing well anyone else having vegetables still going?

It's National Whole Hog day! Have you ever been to a pig roast? Where was it? Each place has their own version of "whole hog"

Good morning family and friends,

Who is seeing white to start off the day? Yes it's definitely frosty out. Tonight we could see more frost then back up to the high teen temps for a few days.

Have you caught a glimpse of the full moon? It will be at it's fullest at 6:26am. Go quick and take a look now while you have the chance.

This is the Hunter's moon. According to the Old Farmers Almanac, this is the time of year hunters start to put food away for the winter. This totally makes sense as it's the harvest season.

Are you celebrating your Thanksgiving today or trying to figure out what to do with the leftovers or maybe both?

I brought home some ham, with the wind breezing along to start our day, I was thinking ham and pea soup might just hit the spot with homemade biscuits. Also I might cook up some chicken breasts later so I can make tetrazzinni, chili, potpie with it or......

What are you turning leftovers into?? So many possibilities.

Our long weekend is finally here! Like many of you today is a work day then my attention will turn to the flowerbeds outside and giving the house a good clean as well. The weather is looking cooler mid week then will warm up next weekend.

Are you traveling, have a house full, spending the weekend at hockey, working outside, working, however you are spending it, I hope it fabulous!

The rain certainly cooled things off yesterday and the wind greeting us to start our day is keeping the frost off of the pumpkins! Sweaters, coats, maybe mittens will all be needed first thing.

Today is National Walk to a Park day! Can we count the trails as endless parks?

It's World porridge day 🥣 Oatmeal, Cornmeal, Red Rvier, what's in your bowl this morning?

Also and most importantly It's World Mental Health day! 1 in 4 people experience mental health issues in their lifetime or have a family or friend affected by this.

Good morning family and friends,

Who is seeing frost to start the day? The mornings are looking like we are going to be warming up the car more before heading off to work.

These cool nights do make it nice for sleeping. The downside, it feels and looks 10pm at 7. Only 1 month until time change and 11 Fridays until Christmas!

Time to get a move on, start the car and fill the coffee cup as Wednesday is waiting for us to join in.

Good morning family and friends,

How did everyone make out through the thunder and lightning show? It was quite a display of fireworks! We received some much needed rain.

The next few days look unsettled with more seasonal temps. We will need our umbrellas, lined fleece jacket, rain jacket, jacket plus a sweater to cover all of the weather basics.

The countdown is on for us in Canada for Thanksgiving and for most our 3 day weekend ahead. What is your favourite part of the dinner? Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes or the desserts?

A huge shout out to everyone who made Hendersons Bash a total success! It was wonderful to chat with friends and meet new people. The weather couldn't have been better and the music was top notch.

Now for a day of rest, working outside and planning for the next big event happening soon.....

I hope everyone has a wonderful day. I am off to cuddle with Charlie and Rusty while I enjoy my coffee and the sunrise to begin. :)

Good Saturday morning family and friends!

The rain we had yesterday afternoon certainly cooled things off leading way to a beautiful day ahead🌞

There are so many things to do outside still. I am hoping the lawn dries enough today so I can cut it one last time then it should be ready for me to rake the leaves onto the flower beds later on.

The best thing about today, it's Henderson Bash day!

Why Henderson? It's this sweet little community with a beautiful hall, church and (like many small communities) dedicated people who live there and work their hardest to keep these buildings up and going constantly.

Look out Henderson, I am ready to spend my day enjoying the beauty, the conversations and the camaraderie with everyone. See you there 🙃
