The Bookshop of Yesterdays by Amy Meyerson.

𝘈 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘯 𝘢 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺, 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨.

I would give this book a solid 3.5 stars out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved the mystery of the clues (finding and solving them), I love how this book set the character on a path of self-discovery. It's a book about love, loss, forgiveness and the importance of community.

Like all books, there were some less desirable aspects. I would have liked for the author to explore Miranda's friendship with her best friend more, there was no proof that they were best friends. The relationship with the her boyfriend, didn't really make sense, it could have been excluded altogether and it wouldn't have made a difference to the plot.

Overall, I found it to be enjoyable and an easy feel good read. I didn't want to put it down from the moment I picked it up and when I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it "What could that clue mean?!"

If you're interested in a feel good story about a community within a bookshop, I would absolutely recommend you give this a try.

We are very excited to announce that we are partnering with The Break Room Café to bring 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 (& 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐬).

Children will have an opportunity to speak with Santa one on one, enjoy some hot cocoa, a cookie and listen to Mrs. Claus read her favourite Christmas story.

Santa will also give each child their first gift of the season, a wrapped book!

I am waiting for my friend to arrive at our coffee date, and taking this opportunity to catch up on some reading (I arrive perpetually early to everything, so I always have at least 2 books on me at any given time, one physical and one digital).

Today, I'm reading A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas. I absolutely love this author, her plotlines are complex and keep you hooked. You fall in and out of love with her characters, the character development in her stories is amazing. Her writing pulls all sorts of emotions out of you, and I just love being transported away to a different land.
