Fall.

I should have my cool flowers in the ground starting now but, I was late starting and now I will be late planting.

At least I can start the direct sowing? 🤷‍♀️

Also, where? I have 2400 tulip bulbs and 500 ranunculus on the way. 😱

I was going to slow down on the growing, but I can’t let go…

Will all be a big experiment, or maybe a sale on bulbs.

Clearly just a bunch of jumbled thoughts. 🤦‍♀️

Monday Mood.

As the season winds down, I’m pondering next year.

I have a sh%t load of Tulips on the way. I have fall starts going and I really don’t know what the future holds. I suppose none of us really do.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 8 and soon to be 10 weddings I designed for this season using my own grown flowers and the many local farms that contributed when needed.

I learned a lot, and I put my heart into every single one. Every couple was beyond happy and grateful 🙏 which was affirming and brought me joy. I only had one experience where I felt de-valued and yet in retrospect that was likely due to my inability to just say no. Lesson learned. Value my time and my worth. (Easier said than done sometimes)

I made many farewell arrangements, each of them tugging at my heart. A humbling experience with the reminder that life is precious and we only really have this moment, that’s for sure.

Birthdays, I love you’s, Anniversaries the joy of celebrating the people we love rounded out the special order floral designing.

Flowers and their beauty and individuality truly weave a thread through the story of our lives. What an honour to participate in yours through my creativity.

If you’re still reading, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

I’ll just keep sitting in my pondering, feeling my way to the answers while the beauty of fall, seed collection and drying blooms for dried floral work round out the season.

Finally had a minute to capture the slightly chewed seedlings from !

I didn’t jump on the dahlia tuber craze this year, but I am glad I invested in these seeds.

I’ll definitely be keeping a few for sure.

Farewell flowers will forever move me, and are the most difficult for me. I always think; I hope I did the soul justice. I hope they radiate love.

Wedding work, not quite complete but standing on its own it is. Must add the beautiful ribbon.

The amount of work that goes into growing, or sourcing locally, gathering, cleaning up and conditioning the flowers pre-creation is a ton of
Work for which I have endless energy it seems.

I hope and pray they love it. if I get to see their face, and I do everything in my power to make that happen, it is a a relief when you see them smile or tear up.

Then I spend the rest of the day stressing about whether it will stay perky and the vase I provide comes in handy between photo shoots and that a hot day doesn’t wilt something delicate.

It’s a roller coaster of emotions, and grit and passion. I am grateful for the gift of sharing my art and my heart through flowers. 🌸 💕🌸

Phew!😅

Thank you to everyone who supported me this Mother’s Day, I am beyond grateful.

I truly love flowers because even though my thumb joints are killing me, I still had the energy to throw this together. The stems are short, and that’s ok, because there is so much beauty in imperfection.

Will be taking a break until early June to get geared up for wedding season.

Can’t wait.
