I’ll be away this weekend for multiple weddings followed by a couple day summer vacation and two more weddings. Communication may be sparse unless you are one of this weekends or next weekends brides who have priority. I have some unread messages that I’ll try to get to if time and service allow but definitely want to enjoy my family time next week as well.

I’m not sure about service I’ll have or upload speeds too but will do as much as I can fit in around this busy week.

Sorry about the inconvenience. Gonna enjoy a little bit of what’s left of summer between the madness.

Hello everyone !

Just doing a little follow up post with everyone that I am slowly chipping away at messages and getting videos sent !

From now on all videos will be digital unless can local pick up as mail has been a big issue!

I will be without my daughter for a few days this week which will allow me to work extra and get some things done !

Also we will be having new procedures in line to ensure things are uploaded faster in the future which will help by digitally uploading.

Making this post not because I need too but because I want to address this and talk about it.

As a new mom, business owner and wife, I am struggling.

This year, we had more weddings then ever before and I was so proud of the success we created but things aren’t like it was when we started two years ago.

I didn’t know I’d be here with a new child while working on this many weddings and it’s been hard to find any sort of work balance. Making me sometimes want to stop doing videos altogether.

I’ve been craving a maternity leave like everyone else, one I didn’t get. Time to focus on my child but being born in October, that was impossible.

I filmed 12 hour days until 37 weeks, and I went back to work at 3 postpartum, that’s just the nature of wedding season and doing everything I could for this business.

But it’s really hard.

So why am I writing this ? Because I like to be transparent and being open will hopefully help others understand why there’s delays in my messages and editing.

I want so bad to be completed all the weddings so I can hopefully have some off time like normal moms do but it’s a slow process. My daughter needs me a lot and my mental health is very affected right now.

I wanted to talk about it because most vendors won’t. I’ve heard all summer about vendors being wore out, feeling like they have to answer messages around the clock and being afraid of negative reviews without them having a chance to fix it. And no one speaks out about it but to other vendors.

So I hope my candidness helps somebody not feel so alone in this industry, or even as the bride, groom or whoever is reading this.

I may still be distant for a day or two as I sort some time to get back to work and recover from my feelings of stress.

When my work is completed for all 2022, I will be taking a break where emails and messages will not be answered at all. I will update on when that happens, likely February or March.

If you’ve read all this, thank you for coming along. Stress, anxiety and depression, along with other mental health aspects are difficult and challenging but conquerable.

My messages are also open to anyone who just needs to talk ❤️

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to make a post updating about some things!

One, I am not seeing some messages when I try to open them, likely a Facebook glitch but please email me at [email protected] if I haven't gotten back to you!

Next, I have been uploading all of this years highlights on our YouTube, basically everyday. Almost every highlight from this year is done, just takes a moment to get them all up and public. Some older ones are being uploaded too that have been sent out but not put public. Keep an eye for your shareable copy on there if you haven't gotten the link to share with friends and family.

Lastly, We didn't announce formally but we did welcome our first child in October after a stay in the hospital due to medical issues. This caused a bit of a delay as I couldn't work at this time but I am working long days to finish all weddings from this Summer by end of November/Early December so I can enjoy the holidays with my daughter.

Thanks again to everyone who has been patient and supportive during this transition. We have had the best year with all the madness of weddings and welcoming our daughter. We are still at weddings almost every weekend so bare with us with communication delays.

I (Shawna) am currently in hospital which will delay communications as I am experiencing high blood pressure and need to step away from work and stress during this time. Please bare with me as I take some time to focus on health. Priority will go to those with upcoming weddings and all video filming this month will be done by the amazing videographers who work with me during this challenging time.

DJ service will not be effected beyond this weekend and I will do my best to get working on editing again hopefully in the next day or so. As of right now I am unable to edit, upload or send content for the next few days. I will try to provide updates accordingly and hope everyone understands.

Taking some time offline this weekend as messages can get overwhelming and the urge to answer everything as soon as it comes in means sometimes we don’t “shut off” as business owners.

We will be responding to the couple of individuals we are currently arranging things with and will be answering new messages again on Monday so we can focus on getting through the workload of editing and exporting usbs which takes a lot of time to load.

Thank you to everyone on your patience while we were on vacation

We are slowly getting back into the editing workflow. I just wanted to let everyone know a couple things !

This year we unexpectedly catapulted the number of weddings ! We are so lucky but this is a lot of work for one individual so I am having to take it day by day in editing through everything.

In order to avoid the burnout I experienced before vacation, I am trying to implement a 5 day work week again, I know this is standard but it has not been for myself in the last few months. My hope is in the new year I can change this again to a 4 day work week and start wedding season strong.

I will be working away this weekend shooting, editing, uploading content and filling In USBs

Rest assured that I have everything on a list and will be getting to everyone’s final versions as soon as I can.

We will be on vacation from November 15th-22nd, and will be away at a wedding on November 13th as well!

During our vacation, we will NOT be answering messages! We will be focusing this week on concluding as much editing and projects as we can, working from 9am until 9pm to get as much out before this week off as possible!

As much as I would love to stay on top of messages and keep editing away, we haven't been on a vacation in 3 years and have been experiencing a lot of burnout after our busy year!

For those of you who don't know, Josh and I got married during the pandemic and of course have not been able to go on a honeymoon due to the nature of the times we are in! So we are taking this break truly away from work (something we're not good at doing) to focus on us and coming back better than ever to continue our weddings and prepare for next year!

If anything urgent comes up for December clients, we will of course address it if need be.
