A big shout out to the Technl team for engaging World on Water to cater their Digital Oil & Gas Tech Market event at the St. John's Farmers' Market on Tuesday, September 13. We'd also like to thank the Subsea Integration Alliance, a non-incorporated strategic global alliance between Subsea 7 and OneSubsea®, for sponsoring the event.

Our team was excited to connect with the local business community and share World on Water's food and culture with the community. Our team and dishes perfectly represented the growing cultural diversity of the tech industry in NL. Everyone enjoyed the different international dishes - although Beef Kofta Dog, Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, Falafel Sandwich and Cod Po Boy were a major hit.

We're grateful to TechNL for recognizing our team's enthusiasm and food quality and for promoting the cultural diversity of the tech industry and our province. We look forward to continuing to deliver an outstanding international food experience at future events.

Ottoman cuisine is the original source of Turkish cuisine. The Ottomans assimilated different culinary traditions from throughout their empire with Mesopotamian, Greek, Levantine, Egyptian, Balkan, and Central Asian culinary elements to create an enormous variety of dishes.

Turkey's food culture is ingrained in its people. Everyone involved loves mealtime in Turkey. It is like a social gathering. Every week, the streets of Turkish communities come to life as vendors set up stalls in local marketplaces to sell their products. These markets are where most Turkish homes get their food ingredients. The scene is lively, with vendors competing for attention and buyers browsing different stalls.

Lamb, chicken, beef, fish, rice, eggplants, green peppers, onions, garlic, lentils, beans, zucchinis, chickpeas, and tomatoes are all common ingredients in Turkish specialties. Nuts, especially pistachios, chestnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts are popular in Turkish cuisine. They're used frequently in desserts or eaten separately in Turkish cuisine.

Give your guests an experience of Turkish culture, tradition, and history with World On Water's Turkish Pide (pronounced Pee-dah) and Mana'eesh. Email: [email protected] or call: (709) 325-0045 for any questions or to place an order for your next private or corporate event.

The history of African cuisine dates back thousands of years to the Bronze Age in Northeast Africa when early civilizations began growing grains like barley and wheat. The Ancient Egyptians developed agriculture in part of Africa known as the Fertile Crescent. Africa is home to many spices, and therefore they are found in many popular African dishes. Spices used in Africa include well-known ones such as bay leaves, cinnamon, cumin, ginger, and sesame seeds, as well as lesser-known spices like cardamom or grains of paradise.

No African meal is complete without rice, bread, or millet. Injera bread, fufu, or jollof rice can be used as a base for stews and grilled meats. There are many ingredients and dishes that bring Africa to diners' plates such as food in the north, which includes Mediterranean ingredients like lemons, olive oil, and chickpeas, or curries found in southern Africa. The spicy and sour condiments of Africa lend themselves to easy experimentation for diners.

Bring Africa to your guests' plates with World on Water's Harira soup, Tajine, and Bastilla. Email: [email protected] or call: (709) 325-0045 for any questions or to place an order for your next private or corporate event.

Asia, the largest and most populous continent is home to many cultures, many with their own distinctive cuisine. Popularly known for being spicy and having big bold flavours, Asian cuisine spans a wide range of flavours and textures. Rice, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, chilies, dried onions, soy, and tofu are some of the most common ingredients in Asian cuisine. Cooking methods include stir-frying, steaming, and deep-frying.

Rice is a staple of many Asian cuisines. However, the type of rice commonly used varies according to the region. Glutinous rice is a staple in Laos' culinary and cultural traditions. Basmati rice is widely used in the Indian subcontinent and jasmine rice across much of Southeast Asia. Short-grain rice is more popular in Japan and Korea, whereas long-grain rice is more popular in China.

Curries have become increasingly popular. From using different spices to different base options such as yogurt and coconut milk, there is a wide range of curries available across Asia. Noodle soups, ramen, dumplings, sushi, and pad Thai are other examples of well-liked Asian dishes.

At World On Water, we offer Szechuan Noodle Soup and Thai Coconut Curry Shrimps to give your taste buds a taste of Asia. Email: [email protected] or call: (709) 325-0045 for any questions or to place an order for your next private or corporate event.

North American cuisine is one of the most genuinely international cuisines. It has been influenced by many cultures such as Amerindians, French, English, Africans, and more. The food chronicles the country's political and economic development as well as offers keen insights into how North America's culture, tradition, and lifestyle changed over time. While gumbo, chowders, and apple pie are examples of North American history, fast foods such as burgers, pizzas, and fried chicken are evidence of industrialized modern America's global influence.

The most popular cooking methods include boiling, baking, frying, poaching, grilling, roasting, and stir-frying. Some were native to the continent while others were introduced by the immigrants. In the coastal regions, seafood is more popular whereas, in the internal regions, meats such as beef, pork, chicken, and turkey are more popular. Cornbread and potatoes are considered staples.

For a Latin meal, the experience is incomplete unless there is a lively contrast of various tastes and textures from the first bite. The components are sometimes layered to allow individuals to taste and feel a variety of flavors and textures at once.

Latin America is a highly diverse region with a wide range of cuisines across different countries. Maize-based (corn-based) dishes such as arepas, pupusas, tacos, tamales, and tortillas and a variety of salsas and other condiments (guacamole, pico de gallo, mole, chimichurri, chili) are examples of some items in typical Latin American cuisine.

What gives Latin American cuisine its distinctive flavor is the spices and herbs in adobos (stocks) and sofritos (sauce or puree bases). Different nations have different key spices, and those that share a spice may use it in varying amounts. Hence, many Latin American countries have their own distinct cuisine based on how the indigenous culture's food combined with that of immigrants and changed over time. Rice and beans are also staples in Latin American cuisine.
