“Before you apply, you should be aware of the following:

The fee for a marriage licence is $100.
The marriage licence is valid only in Newfoundland and Labrador for 30 days from the date of issue, but can be extended in special circumstances.
You should obtain your marriage licence within 30 days of the anticipated date of marriage, as the clergy or marriage commissioner should be provided with the licence at least four days in advance the ceremony date.
Both parties must be 19 years of age or over. Otherwise, special consent may be required.
Proof of age may be required.”
