Attention Composers: Are you interested in enhancing your composition skills in a mentorship program unlike any other? Well, you are in luck, because there is still time to apply to Tuckamore Festival's 'Widening the Circle'.

This unique cross-Canada online mentorship program provides skill development for composers from diverse backgrounds at various stages in their careers. Widening the Circle aims to celebrate and encourage the creative voices of youth, emerging, and professional composers through community-based learning. Applications are due October 11th, 2024.

Calling all young composers 📣

Tuckamore is proud to announce our second Widening the Circle program, and applications are now open for the Emerging and Youth composer cohorts!

Widening the Circle is a cross-Canada, online mentorship program that connects youth, emerging, and professional composers through lessons and workshops. This unique project aims to celebrate and encourage diverse creative voices, at various stages in their professional development.

Emerging: This is a paid opportunity where participants will gain extensive experience as both mentor and mentee, under the instruction of a professional-level Canadian composer.

Youth (14-19): As a youth composer, you’ll receive lessons in music composition, participate in workshops and discussions, meet composers from across the country, and have a chance to have your work performed and recorded by professional musicians.
