We just brought in another round of fresh-from-the-farm flowers! These are just-harvested blooms from less than 18km from The Flower Shop and they are oh-so-gorgeous.

We had so much fun creating and donating “Futuristic Elegance” centerpieces to embrace this year’s St. Marys Healthcare Foundation Gala theme for last weekend’s gala fundraising event. This is more than a little out of our ordinary, so we thought we would share!

When we we were given “Futuristic Elegance” as a theme, we were a little flummoxed. So, of course we googled the term, and we stumbled upon key themes of chrome and big design terms like juxtaposition. We grabbed on to the ideas of shiny and sleek, crossed with natural and rustic, and then threw in some really funky Geum “ troll head” blooms!

This was such a fun design and we hope everyone at the Gala had a great evening!

Eve wonder what florists so with their spare time?

We GROW the flowers we sell at the shop! And sometimes, like tonight, flower farming means covering the field to protect all our baby flowers from a very late frost risk. We are still shaking our heads that there can be a chance of frost as we head into June, but tonight, the flowers are all tucked in and protected for what may come.

Here’s hoping summer comes soon!
