In the middle of town,
On day twenty-two,
The merchants of St. Marys
Welcomed the whole lot of you.
They welcomed the short,
They welcomed the tall,
They welcomed those with four legs, two legs,
And those with none at all!
The merchants, you see,
Hosted an open house spectacle
And turned the downtown into Whoville
Filled with fun, silly and the Seussically unsensical..
The weekend was colourful,
Lively, and cheery
A veritable feast of the senses!
No one cared it was dreary.
The Grinch showed up too, you saw him, I s’pose,
Slinking and slunking as any good Grinch does
If you listened real close as he slunk right on by,
He said quietly, in a whisper-y, muttery reply
“Merry Christmas to you here,
and you there, make it happy
Share, give and laugh - Now! Make it snappy!
Giving Tuesday is coming,
And Christmas is too
So keep right on giving
The way that you do.”
St. Marys, the Grinch knows
Makes the perfect Whoville town
Cause the people that live here and came straight on down -
are simply the greatest supporters around!
They ate and they drank
And they shopped, shopped, shopped shopped!
And they laughed and enjoyed
Til the weekend then stopped.
These townspeople are just the best folks around
And we, the merchants thank you,
You folks,
For coming, and joining and, well, being you!
