I have been struggling to get back in the swing of things around here. Not that I’m not looking forward to my garden, I am very much looking forward to the joy of colors that welcomes me as I walk up the hill. Things I am not looking forward to, the exhaustion of social media. The guilt and pressure I put on myself to push out as many bundles of flowers as I can. The pressure to have the best looking flowers and high producing plants. Spending 3- 4 of my evenings a week delv flowers. . . Things I planning on changing my mind set on. Seed starting will be survival of the fittest, flower delivering would love to find central locations or businesses for subscribers to pick up their weekly bouquets. Working with what I got, instead of buying new things or going and getting the best I’m going to put my creative ADD brain to use and figure out frugal and unique ideas. But mostly just looking to enjoy myself and root back to why I started the cut garden, for my love of it.

Yesterday I planted the last of the tulip bulbs! It was blizzard of snow flurries, freezing rain and sun. So thankful for JT who did 95% of the soil lugging and putting soil on the bulbs I carried on planting. ✅ another task off the list!

What an extended season! Got our first frost last night, making this weekends to do list busy with cleaning up the garden and getting ready for tulips. This season may not of what I had planned, but it was nice to have flowers to enjoy with family and friends ❤️. It was the perfect reminder of why I started, I love growing the beauty and if I can share that, that is the bonus. I’m not competing with anyone, I don’t need to have the most aesthetic garden, the most views on social media. There is happy in mess, the mistakes, the lessons and the rewards of a crocked stem but gorgeous flower. 💐

This year has got me down and questioning everything! To start I was having such a horrible time with germination of seeds, less than thriving seedlings, a busy tulip and daffodil time allowing about 30% just blooming out and not getting picked. Ranunculus and anemones did not grow and now rain, rain. Garden is not looking the bountiful sea of color it should be right now. Weeds are thriving but thankfully so are the dahlias! The summer subscriptions I have sold will be committed to first, but hoping to have more flowers to share with others.

Spring flowers have been slow since tulips. Been enjoying walking around grabbing what is in bloom what’s pretty. This evening’s bouquet went to my mother in law for her wedding anniversary tomorrow!

You all blew me away! I didn’t think I was going to offer mother day bundles this year but you all sent in your orders, we made a waiting list and boom! Mother Nature provided, lots of orders being delivered and picked up tomorrow. Thank you!! 😊

This weekend did not go as planned, great weather, but just didn’t get that list done as being pulled away for emergencies (I’m a volunteer firefighter and medical first responder). So this week will be busy with subscription orders and garden work to get caught up. If you don’t have a subscription but are looking for some flower bunches shot me a message!

With the last of the subscriptions going out today, the tulips and daffodils are done for 2024. But it is not the end we have 5000 bulbs on order that will arrive in September for next spring. Next up anemones and Ranunculus! 🌸

For some reason my posts and stories are only uploading to Instagram and I didn’t realize that this has been happening for awhile. I apologize if you follow along here and not on Instagram you haven’t been seeing the gorgeous spring flowers. I have lots of tulip and mixed bouquets available. A year ago today, we started demolition of our old kitchen, porch and started to build our dream kitchen and addition. We are so happy with how it turned out. But it was a long endeavour!

This will be the last week for the ranunculus and anemones. If you would like to get your hands on some before they are gone, through me a message!
