The KartStars Canada Season Finale, known as one of the year’s best events, is back with its thrilling Night Race. Since 2009, Goodwood Kartways has hosted this exciting event under the lights, creating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. If you’ve never experienced it before, this is your chance!

“This race is a highlight for many karters, and we aim to make it better each year,” said Daniel Di Leo. “Racing under the lights is special, it’s a must-see. The kids have a blast! Lit-up karts and an outdoor movie presented by ‘That’s Sapore’. We invite families and racers from all clubs to join us for a great night at the track.”

The event will feature top kart racers from across Ontario as they compete to finish their season championships. With Kid Karts also in the mix, the energy will be electric! This year’s race follows a single-day format, with six on-track sessions per class. Gates open at 9 AM, and the drivers’ meeting starts at 10:30 AM. The day includes practice, qualifying, two heat races, and a pre-final, leading up to the finals, which take place after sunset. As is tradition, LED lights will be allowed on karts, and the night will end with exciting finals for the KartStars Cadet, Junior, and Senior categories. The usual KartStars raffles will happen at the podium presentation.

Kid Karts will also be part of the show, and don’t forget to grab a special Taco Bowl from the Snack Bar (while supplies last). To reserve a Taco Bowl, email [email protected]. For the kids, there will be an outdoor movie at the podium area, complete with complimentary popcorn and water, courtesy of That’s Sapore (while supplies last). Parents should email [email protected] if their child plans to watch the movie, so they can plan accordingly. Children are encouraged to bring a sleeping bag or blanket for comfort, and parental supervision is advised for younger kids.

KartStars practice is available on Friday, September 27th, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Large grids are expected, and visiting club members are welcome. Extra pit lighting is recommended for the evening. Registration is now open, with discounts on race tires, fuel, and oil for those who pre-register. The online platform closes on Thursday, September 26th, at 8 PM.

Just a reminder, our friends at CanadianKartingNews.com will be covering the KartStars Finale this Saturday and have their awesome photo packages available for purchase. KartStars Canada Round 1 (TRAK Race 5) Pre-Registration Deadline:

As a final reminder, on-line registration for KartStars Canada Round 1 (TRAK Race 5) will close tomorrow May 16th at 8pm. Fees are discounted for those of you taking advantage of the on-line registration process. As promoted, further discounts on Tires, Fuel and Oil are available only through the pre-register process.

The phone has been busy over the last few days with some popular questions. I hope to clarify below:

1. TRAK Race #5 will be held this weekend as part of the KartStars Canada event. ALL TRAK Members are encouraged to participate as this is a standard points race. It is important to note that eligibility is granted to any drivers who holds a valid Club license. A National license is NOT required. As a TRAK Member you are all set.

2. This is a two-day event featuring a unique format depending of which class you race. Briggs classes are single day events with some taking place on Saturday and others on Sunday. Vortex classes compete throughout the weekend.

3. This is a TRAK points race and as such TRAK points will be awarded based on your overall finishing position within your class. We will then rank the total points scored between TRAK members only and the TRAK member who scored the most points in their respective class will be awarded 1st Place Championship points. The TRAK member who scores the second most combined points in that same class will score 2nd place championship points. So on and so forth.

4. Transponder assignment will be done on site during registration hours only.

5. Remember pre-registration saves you money, makes you eligible for further discounts on consumables and closes May 16th at 8pm!

6. For those who don’t take advantage of pre-registration, on-site Registration will be open Friday from 9:00am – 12:00pm and 4:00pm – 6:00pm, Saturday morning from 7:15am - 8:15am. Sunday morning from 7:15am – 8:15am. On-site registration fees will apply.

02/08/2024

Excited to kick off the season, Goodwood Kartways is thrilled to unveil the 2024 schedule for the Toronto Racing Association of Karters Club Racing.

Established in 2008, the Toronto Racing Association of Karters was founded with a dedication to driving innovation within the industry. With a mission to promote karting and foster skill development among its members, the Club Racing program, based at Goodwood Kartways, has remained at the forefront of the industry for decades.

Entering its 17th year, TRAK Officials are once again energized by the diversity of offerings in this year’s program. Continuing to cultivate a value-added environment, the schedule boasts a range of experiences. It features a multi-race series within the Club championship, allowing TRAK members to explore different tracks and elevate their competition levels. The popular KartStars Canada program returns in a format similar to last year's, with highlights including a four-round championship beginning and ending at Goodwood Kartways, along with visits to Shannonville Motorsport Park for the KartStars National Championship and 3S Go-Karts in Sutton, Ontario. Other notable dates include May 26, June 23, and September 22, currently serving as placeholders as final details for exciting events are being confirmed.

On-track activities kick off on April 7th with TRAK Spring Training and Rookie Orientation (FREE for those pre-registering for TRAK Race 1), followed by TRAK Race 1 on April 13th, 2024. The ever-popular Goodwood Kartways Night Race concludes the KartStars program, with Family Night under the lights scheduled for September 28th. The on-track action culminates with the challenging Attrition Fest Enduro, where this year's teams will be put to the test in a multi-class '4-Hour Endurance Race' on November 2nd

It's making a comeback! Following the previous successes in 2018,2019 and the 2022 season, Goodwood Kartways is thrilled...
02/02/2024

It's making a comeback! Following the previous successes in 2018,2019 and the 2022 season, Goodwood Kartways is thrilled to announce the 2024 Canadian karting season kickoff with the 4th edition of the 'Goodwood 500.' This endurance race spans over Five-Hundred-Minutes, challenging both ‘Pro’ and ‘Semi-Pro’ (amateur) racers to navigate the track in unpredictable conditions. Sunny skies, steady rainfall or maybe even snow! What will 2024 bring this time around?

Featuring a brand NEW fleet of IPK GK Arrive-and-Drive karts, the race ensures equal equipment for all participants, offering a complete arrive-and-drive experience. Teams of 4 to 8 drivers will engage in Five-Hundred-Minutes of competitive racing on the full Goodwood Kartways circuit, featuring numerous pit stops, wheel-to-wheel action, and the opportunity to win cash prizes.

Reflecting on the 2022 event, assembling the right driver team proved crucial, especially considering the unpredictable April conditions. Maintaining control of the kart in ever-changing weather became a decisive factor, with frequent lead changes in the race's first half and challenges in seamless driver transitions on a track significantly different from the previous session.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 6th with all action taking place at Goodwood Kartways. The day will kick-off with a drivers briefing, kart raffle, official weigh-in, ballasting and pit spot allocation.

New kart break-in will be completed by each team and Open Practice will run for 30-minutes; with a hot pit for teams to allow each driver to get on track. Qualifying will feature two groups hitting the track for 10-minute sessions each to set the starting grid.

A Le Mans formation will be utilized to get the race started and begin the Five-Hundred-Minutes of grueling action.

At the 250-minute mark, a full-course caution will be shown. It will require a mandatory trip down pit lane, allowing for refueling and driver changes. Following the pit stops, the grid will form up for a restart to resume the second half of the race.

At the completion, a podium ceremony will celebrate the top-three teams in the Pro and Semi-Pro (amateur) categories.

“As the organizer of countless karting events over the years, I can tell you that very few events have got my blood pumping as did the ’Goodwood 500’ back in 2022’. Watching the race unfold brought out my competitive spirits and I couldn’t help but want to be out there competing with the others. The strategy, the twists and turns, pit stops and driver changes, the unbelievable reliability from our new fleet, the parity between drivers and equipment, winning and losing as a TEAM. These are all components that made this type of event so special. Bottom line, with the previous editions being so successful and the demand still very high, we couldn’t wait to do it again?”- Daniel Di Leo, Goodwood Kartways

With a Rules Package in place, the basic concept is that teams will follow a strict ‘karts must maintain original set-up’ at all time. Rules on team weight, fueling procedures, driver change process, inspection and on-track officiating will be provided to all participants within the Official Registration Package.

For more information on the ’Goodwood 500’ including information on how to enter please visit our Event Page: https://goodwoodkartways.com/goodwood500/ or email [email protected].
