Lots of beautiful plants going together for Mother’s Day. Once they’re all nicely rooted and settled we will decorate them with lots of fun little accents: like moss, river rocks, etc. available to order on our website www.blackcreekfarm.com
Did you know that some seeds need cold stratification for better germination? This is basically a little holiday for your seeds in your freezer. Typically your seed packet will tell you this… or trial and error 🤣… or researching the seeds you intend to plant. This cold stratification period can vary from plant to plant … some require 24 hours, some require 48 hours, and some require several weeks even. Some examples are snapdragons, bells of Ireland, a lot of herbs like cilantro, chives and oregano etc. (p.s just remember that your seeds/packets can condensate going in and out of the freezer, so we always recommend storing them in a dark, dry cool place when storing through the year… and putting just what you need for the year in the freezer to ensure healthy viable seeds for the following year.)
