From time to time, this truly bothers me. My dream would be a little shop, on a Main Street that is full of beautifully fragrant bouquets for you to chose from. But that magical fairytale would force me to raise my costs, hire on more staff, and be stricter on delivery days and times. I love having the flexibility of delivering when it’s needed, keeping my costs low due to a low overhead, and being able to create the arrangement and deliver it myself.

🌹 We don’t grow our own flowers
This one hurts my heart. A lot. Again, my dream would be to grow allll my own flowers. But again, costs and responsibilities make that impossible in this season of life
Instead, I use two amazing local wholesalers!
@hardscrabbleblooms is one of the most amazing hardworking couples I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting! Both Ben and Andrea are so knowledgeable and patient with me as I pepper them with all my questions and requests. They’re so good at filling my last minute orders and know exactly what flower I should use to make that bouquet perfection! I’m so thankful for them 💖
We also use Rainbow Ridge here in town and Kristi is amazing and so knowledgeable. They import in a lot of flowers which allows me to bring you quality flowers all year round!

I know a lot of successful florists would argue this one with me and tell me I’m foolish. But it’s my business, and The Elwyn way says every order is a blessing! Whether you are planning an extravagant over the top wedding, or a small backyard wedding but want a small bouquet of wildflowers to hold onto….we got you! We can’t

We are all about beautiful flowers that last for many many days. If you’re spending your hard earned money then it needs to be on something that will last more than a day or two.
We do our part to pick only the best blooms for you, but now it’s time for you to do some work too 💪🏻
First, pick a vase that is big enough for all the stems to fit in comfortable, you shouldn’t be struggling to cram them inside the vase. If there isn’t proper airflow you’ll find yourself with a whole host of issues -including mold building up from the moisture 🤢
Next, fill the vase with clear, fresh water. My rule of thumb is always if you wouldn’t drink the water in the vase then your flowers don’t want to either! The longer they can drink clean water, the longer they’ll flourish!
Next up is cutting down those stems! Measure up where you want the flowers to sit in the vase and cut off the appropriate length needed. I try to keep the main focal flower sitting right at the top of the vase so there aren’t a bunch of stems visible at the top of the vase. Make sure you cut on an angle so the flowers have a wider base in which to draw up water
💡 It’s important to note that you don’t need to use specialty flower snips to cut your flowers. You should be able to cut through the stems with regular scissors. But make sure you clean them off first so you’re not transferring anything to the flower when cutting the stems
Once you’ve cut down your stems make sure you clear off any leaves
Lastly, place the flowers into the vase and make sure each stem is in water!
Check on the water level and quality every couple days. When it’s time for more water simply grab all the stems and lift out of the vase, dump out all the water, and refill. Luke warm water is best so we don’t shock the flowers
