❄️ We wrapped the season with a bang at Ice Maker’s Revenge! ❄️

Congrats to Team Garth Nathanson, Amanda MacAulay, Matt Latimer, and Grace MacGillivary for taking the win in one of the most unpredictable nights of curling we’ve seen yet!

This fun and quirky event was the perfect way to close out the season — thanks to everyone who came out, had some laughs, and embraced the chaos. And of course, a big shoutout to Benito for keeping things interesting on the ice.

We are so excited to have had the wheelchair curling program back over the past couple of seasons! We are looking forward to seeing the program grow in the future! 🥌♿️

One year ago, Sydney welcomed the world for the BKT Tires Women’s World Curling Championship, and the impact is still being felt today. This event wasn’t just about world-class curling—it was a defining moment for our community, showcasing our passion for the sport and putting Cape Breton Island on the map as a premier curling destination.

From the roar of the sold-out crowd at Centre 200 to the lasting legacy it’s left on local curling, we couldn’t be prouder of what this championship meant for Sydney. As we look ahead to our new curling facility in Open Hearth Park, we’re more excited than ever to build on this momentum and continue growing the game right here!

Last night, we celebrated Team LeFort after their regular Tuesday The Curling Store Competitive League game with some well-deserved cake! 🍰🥌

We are so proud we are of this team and their accomplishments this season. Bringing home a provincial championship for Sydney is no small feat, and having teams from our club win two years in a row is nothing short of amazing! We can’t wait to hang your banner and display it for years to come!🏆💙

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜🥌

Today, we celebrate the incredible women who make the Sydney Curling Club what it is! Women make up 45% of our membership, a number that continues to grow thanks to the success of our Ziggy's Pub & Grill Ladies League, which has been at full capacity all season!

We’re also proud to recognize the dedicated and inspiring women who serve as role models for our younger curlers, competing in events across the province and around the world. This season alone, thirteen of our female members have represented our club at provincial and national championships, showcasing the strength, skill, and passion of women in curling.

As we look to the future with our new facility, we are excited to continue fostering growth in women’s curling, creating even more opportunities for participation, development, and competition at all levels.

To all the women on and off the ice who make our club stronger—thank you, and happy International Women’s Day! 💜💪
