Anyone else for a steam facial? 💆‍♀️

Everytime I make my shower packs I end up with a few extra stems of eucalyptus and lavender flowers so I've been using them for aromatic step facials. It's such a treat! I'll be collecting them all up and when there's enough, I'll post them as kits 🖤🖤🖤

Eucalyptus has been used for centuries for it's fresh scent and therapeutic properties. Here are 3 benefits for using our eucalyptus bunches in the shower:

1. The aroma eucalyptus releases has been known to invigorate our energy levels in the morning. Is there any better reason than that to pop on of these bunches on your shower head?

2. Have a stuffy sinuses? Eucalyptus can help you with that. Cineole, the main component in eucalyptus oil, which is released with steam, helps clear the nasal passage of mucus (yuck) and is a natural cough suppressant!

3. It's a natural insect repellent! Just in time for spring too. A number of essential oils help keep the blood suckers away from your skin 🦟

STILL // is how this vase and stem pairing makes me feel. As you can see, we haven't been posting much lately, it's been an incredibly busy few weeks with photoshoots, website building, ordering shipping boxes, branded stickers and not to mention working on all those custom arrangements that keep my business ticking.

I want to thank EVERYONE who has helped me in these early stages of building my own business. I've been overwhelmed in the best way by all of the likes, comments and also the constant stream of orders that have been coming my way. Building a business as a mom of two young kids is a real challenge. My studio is at home and I have to work between daycare pickups and also caring for my younger child who is still at home. Most of my work happens in those few hours between when the kids bedtime and mine. I am the type of person who achieves more if I have little time on my hands. I find ways to maximize those small pockets of free time. If I have a lot of free time, I get nothing done!

Did you know I am also a ceramics degree student? I just finished up my second year. Ceramics isn't my first degree or my first (or second) career for that matter. But that's a post (or ten posts) for another day...

WHO AM I? //

In a nutshell, I'm Dana, mother of 2, city girl and serial creative person. That's the short story and I honestly feel I have lived multiple lives.

I grew up just North of Toronto and grew up hanging out at my parents fresh cut flowers warehouse with our giant Saint Bernard. In the winters, I'd nap above the floral coolers where it was so warm and cozy and my grandad would bring me roasted pumpkins he'd make for lunch. In the summers, me and the dog would find relief from the heat in those same coolers. To make myself useful, my dad would have me do collections calls, if a client was late on their payments you got a 7 year old calling you and reminding you the bill was due. Who could refuse to pay a 7 year old right? 😆

HYDRANGEA // One of my absolute favorites. Look at that delicate ballet slipper pink ❤️

Yes, this is an EVERLASTING hydrangea, keep it dry and out of direct sunlight and it will stay this lovely for months if not years. Preserved flowers are different from simply dried blooms, they stay flexible and keep their delicate tones for ages.
