Merry Christmas Eve! We’re playing it safe and staying home today instead of traveling through the storm to see family. It’ll be a cozy steak dinner and a bottle of wine we got in France a few years ago.

Lisa + Rory

Tbh, I felt bad for these two. They booked and rebooked this wedding something like four times. Ridiculous.

But after their small ceremony in January with all their family and friends around, who couldn’t stop raving about what amazing people they are, I realized they’re so incredibly lucky. When they couldn’t keep their hands off each other, when Rory could barely get his vows out, when their chemistry was heating up our cameras and they were having the time of their lives dancing in the sunset light—yeah, I don’t feel bad. It was all worth it.

And we can’t WAIT for the reception on New Years Eve!!

I need to talk about burnout for a minute. I’m not usually a fan of posting videos with unrelated captions but here I go.

2022 has been a tough year so far. Last year we had more weddings packed into a shorter amount of time than ever and we finished 2021 with a crazy backlog of work. We were honest with our clients that it would take a while to get all their films done, and everyone was amazing and patient. We had a late start to the 2022 season and my plan was to finish all the editing in March, and then enjoy about 3 months until the next wedding.

Then I got sick, twice. Back to back. About 6 weeks of fatigue, brain fog, aches, headaches, all kinds of s**t. I couldn’t be creative at all, no focus. We just delivered our last weddings last week and now I’m trying to catch up on marketing before the next event. We haven’t been posting much because my diligently scheduled content ran out months ago and I didn’t have the time or energy to create more.

I hope this doesn’t sound like complaining. I love this job so much but content creation is taxing!

Just know that every post, especially videos, is carefully crafted, and even 30 seconds can take up to 90 mins to create. I’m working on getting back on track now and just crossing my fingers I don’t get sick again. I’m so excited to share some of the small moments we shot last year for those who don’t watch the long films.

Jenn and Ken's tea ceremony was a beautiful addition to their wedding day. Family members stopped by, one by one, to receive cups of tea and offer gifts and jewelry to the newlyweds.

Liana and Fernando did this beautiful thing where they passed around their rings so everyone at the wedding could bless them during the ceremony. It was easy to do with only 12 people there.

It’s such a pleasure to celebrate with Brittani and Luke AGAIN! We shot their elopement one year ago tomorrow and today we’re guests at their big wedding. It was fun to hear what they’ve added to their vows—basically what they’ve learned from one year of marriage.

OHhhhh you gotta love a micro-wedding on a Thursday, especially one at a gorgeous lakefront estate. The weather was all over the map—sunny and stiflingly hot during the day, and right after the ceremony and family photos were done, the thunder and heavy rain started. We can’t wait to share all of this with you in the highlight film, but please enjoy the trailer for now.
