Yesterday I attended my second in-person industry event hosted by since the pandemic and it felt so good to be with people who share the same passion as me. It reminded me of why I do what I do; People are meant to connect over good food and drinks, to bond through laughter, and to share experiences through stories. This is why I love being in events and hospitality.

I had an opportunity to get a poem written on the spot by the amazing Cathy Thorne of ! I rambled on about my thoughts at the time: my kids, their future, why I do what I do, and she wrote this incredible poem that further cemented my purpose in life and why sustainability is important to me. Thank you, Cathy, for capturing my thoughts on paper in such a simple yet eloquent way.

A few days ago I mentioned that Today’s Bride shared our styled shoot - well, this is the money shot!

I knew I wanted to get a photo of the girls in a field lying down, top down shot, but Olive Studio just nailed it with her artistic grace. I couldn’t have envisioned it any more beautiful than how she captured it. 👏 April!

As Ontario settles in for another snow day, we are really, REALLY wanting spring to hurry up and get here. And when we think of spring, we think of lilacs. 💜

This lilac-filled shoot is all about the bride and her maid of honour. It's super soft and sweet, and you can almost smell the flowers.

We lucked out with the weather yesterday for a special “sprinkles and confetti” first birthday party! This was so much fun to plan and design with the proud parents!

Despite having to move our “One In A Melon” themed party inside due to the heavy rain yesterday, we were still able to create a fun and memorable first birthday for little Lady.

Instead of ballon arches, which are not friendly to the environment and wildlife regardless of whether they are biodegradable or not, we used paper pom poms, honeycomb balls and fans to create a beautiful backdrop for the watermelon stand. The paper decor will be reused for another birthday.

The cute watermelon picnic basket was from Nayos. We also ordered pink plaid pillows but didn’t get to use them for our picnic. 🙁

Our client made her own watermelon cake! Doesn’t it look amazing?? Little Lady loved picking the berries off the cake. Yum! 🍉

Happy New Year!

I had wanted to post something sooner, but my kids have been keeping us busy, so all my work starts when they are in bed. :)

Thank you to everyone who has followed me so far. I should start with a bit of an introduction, but it's still New Year's Day and I know a few of us would like to do a bit more of "nothing" before the first official work week of 2021 begins again, so I'll post something next week. :P

In the meantime, I wish you and your family a very healthy year, and the strength to keep moving forward, keeping those vulnerable as safe as possible! From our family to yours.
