OH MY GOODNESS!! Another year is in the books for STUFF THE BUS and this is looking like our best year to date. To ALL the friends and neighbours, businesses who donated, those who dropped by with a toy. Those who dropped for the afternoon - I am overwhelmed with the generosity! Look at this picture. We had to close the back doors half way thru the afternoon as the bus could not hold anymore in the back. By the end of the day, we could only fit one person at a time as there was just not enough room. Early total of cash amounts donated is about $8000.00. Toy count will follow. Thank you to Hogtown Country (Bernie M. Oldham), Councillors Paula Fletcher and Brad Bradford, TTC, Carol Neil and Dave Suggitt and all the Sterling volunteers. To the Staff at the Duke and George. We're just a couple of days away from our gig at the historic Duke Live. The weather is cool but the music will be hot with a fantastic program of BIG Band classics like Miller, Ellington, Herman and more all paired up with BIG Band renditions of The Great American Songbook. The eighteen piece George Lake BIG Band will be joined on stage by our two fantastic vocalists, Vincent Wolfe and Diya Tirone to make the party complete. The dance floor is small but we love to play for dancers, foot tappers and even "singalongers". The swinging starts at 5 p.m. Sunday November 10 and we'll have you home in time for the news. As always there is free parking on site behind The Duke and along Leslie Street. The Queen Street TTC car stops at the door. Cover charge is $15 which goes to the band. This is an all ages show and children under 12 are free. Bring your kids or bring your parents to enjoy the best music performed by a live 20 piece jazz orchestra. We always have surprise guests dropping in to join us on stage for an exciting showcase of talent. Reservations highly recommended, call The Duke 416-466-2624
