Arraymusic supports and promotes newly-created Canadian music within an international and historical new music context. We support
composers and musicians by providing an environment in which they are free to take risks and to push the boundaries of musical expression
and by bringing their work to new audiences. We participate in cultural
development and education and cooperate extensively with ot

her organizations to this end. We embrace new techniques, technologies and
perspectives that nourish the musical imagination. Key to Array is the Arraymusic Ensemble, a chamber ensemble drawing primarily on the orchestral families of instruments but often including instruments from other traditions or new media. The expertise of the members of the ensemble is fundamental to the high standard of
interpretation and performance found in our concerts and recordings. When opportunities permit, we involve younger professional performers. Through collaborations of composers, and musicians with artists from other disciplines, Arraymusic demonstrates a dedication to discover
beauty and/or truth in unexpected places. Arraymusic approaches all this work with a fierce spirit of exploration, an abiding appreciation for the art of sound; a profound respect for the
accomplishments of our great contemporary composers and a critical openness to the intellectual and aesthetic concepts shaping the
culture of our age. The Array Space is available to rent for recordings, livestreams and intimate performances. We also offer a full suite of production services including audio and video.

Join the Duplessis Orphans and composer Alyssa Ryvers, with percussionist Stuart Jackson on snare and pennywhistle, for an immersive documentary music theatre experience, as we march to mark the day 70 years ago that Premier Duplessis signed Decree 816, transforming the Mont Providence orphanage into a psychiatric hospital and the 370 resident children into patients. 5,000 children would eventually be falsely diagnosed by doctors as mentally deficient, and interned as patients in psychiatric institutions across Quebec.

This is the second in a series of performative events as part of the second iteration of O douce Providence, by Alyssa Ryvers with Hervé Bertrand and other Duplessis Orphans. It takes place from March 18, 2024 to March 18, 2025—to coincide with the Duplessis Orphans' Commemorative Day.

O douce Providence is co-produced by Arraymusic and represented by Latitude 45 Arts.

A non-idiomatic, free-improving ensemble, CCMC is united by a desire to play music that is fluid, spontaneous, and self-regulating. The original members founded the artist-run Music Gallery in 1976, where they performed twice weekly until 1980, and the band, with shifting membership, has been a cornerstone of Toronto’s left-field-jazz and free-improvisation music scenes ever since. CCMC has travelled and toured widely, performing at venues and festivals in Canada, the United States, Europe and Japan, and has recorded 11 albums.
