The day in the life of an event planner. Yesterday I did a beautiful wedding at Temple Emanu-el and I thought I would share just a few of the tidbits of the day. As an event planner I have so many responsibilities on the day of the wedding. Here is a glimpse of just a few of those tasks, when I arrived I placed reserved signs on all of the chairs for the bridal party and honoured guests, I then set up the place card table and checked and double checked all of the table counts, gave my input on decorating the wedding cake with florals, then distributed each bouquet and pinned on every boutenniere, after that I placed a notions basket in the washrooms (I always provide a list to my clients of what can be included in this basket and the guests love it). I sent everyone down the aisle, then we had a lively horah, followed by a dinner buffet, and ended the night with the throw bouquet. All in all it was a beautiful but jam packed day. The party continued late into the night with a bar mitzvah for a very special repeat client. This bar mitzvah was held at Temple Sinai Synagogue and was an Olympic theme with foods and flags from around the world. All vendors did an exceptional job last night, the dance floor was packed, the room looked amazing and the food was out of this world. Yesterday I had the great pleasure of doing two mitzvahs in the same day. In the morning I did a luncheon bat mitzvah at Beth Sholom Synagogue. The bat mitzvah girl loves gems so we did DIY centrepieces, with a Shabbat friendly beading station and a massive kids table. Thanks to @elysfinefoods who provided the delicious lunch.

Love this, I recently heard that this is a new trend in weddings and I can’t think of a better way to honour the mother daughter relationship. Having a daughter myself this new tradition definitely resonates with me and I would love to dance with my daughter at her wedding. What a beautiful tribute to the relationship and to pay homage to the woman that raised you, cried with you, laughed with you and stood by your side through all of life’s trials and tribulations.
