Happy Monday Brokies! Hope y’all had an amazing weekend 💹💹💹

Today’s topic: TRUST 🤝🏽

Last night at we often find ourselves having conversations with musicians, artists, creatives where they pick our brains about anything and everything from “how do I find a collaborator?” to “how do I play more shows?” to “how TF do you play talkbox?” 🤔🧐💬🗯️💭

But 9/10 the conversation always steers to a single topic usually centered around strategy, specifically how to move in this crazy world and how to go from an art casualist to full blown artist 👩🏼‍🎨 👩‍🎤🎤

The answer is usually one thing. Trust. You need to trust that YOU are ultimately the best thermometer of cool, high quality s**t. Don’t let any dictate what you think is really good s**t or even worse what ISNT good s**t. Develop that palette everyday 🎨

You need to trust the processes that you create along with the people that create them with you. We wouldn’t be able to be saying the things we say or even be where we’re at if we didn’t have an abundance of trust for our brothers

Trust that what you’re doing is right and have faith that it’ll all work out 🙏🏽

……..but don’t forget about all the HARD WORK that needs to get done (STAY TUNED FOR OUR NEXT TED TALK) 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Just a little over 3 years ago, we had our very first official gig as Bitter&Broke w/ our newest member at an event we organized with called “Say Your Peace” 🗣️🎙️✌🏽

This event had a HUGE impact on us. It was our first time working with a whole organization and it would’ve been our first time backing multiple artists in a single night! 🎙️🎙️🎙️

It was great to see other artists and collectives who were on the grind building something bigger than themselves. We were truly inspired 🥹✨💹

This event started to form the foundation of what Bitter&Broke is today. Thanks for listening to our TedTalks and thank you all for allowing us to do this just one day longer 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

STORYTIME! 📖📖📖 It’s August 2021 and we JUST met at .studio for “Boom Baux” event by .cave 🤝🏽🤝🏽🤝🏽

5 mins after meeting and jamming, we asked Jay to be part of the band. It’s WILD to see how far we’ve come these past 3 years……to go from musicians/session players/producers to a full blown band with original music WRITTEN BY US! Sometimes we look back on it all and it’s even unbelievable to us how much we’ve grown, evolved and matured over the years 💹💹💹

We’re SUPER proud of where we’re at now, we’re excited for everything we’ve planned out for the rest of the year and we’re SOoooOoOoOo thankful for every single one of you that’s liked/commented/shared any of our posts, come to any of our live shows or just straight up sowed love! Y’all have really given us the confidence to become the artists we’ve always wanted to 💹✨😎
