Lince Dorado Vacates Lucha Premier Championship; Announcement Coming Soon

Toronto, January 14, 2025 – After carefully reviewing the controversial ending to the Lince Dorado vs Jack Cartwheel match at A Very Merry Lucha Christmas Show, the Demand Lucha committee and Commissioner have reached a significant decision. Together with Lince Dorado, it has been agreed that he will step down and vacate the Lucha Premier Championship.

"I had a long conversation with my family about my future and decided it's in the best interest to step down as the Lucha Premier Champion and move on to other opportunities," Lince Dorado shared.

This decision marks the end of a historic chapter for both Demand Lucha and Lince Dorado.

Lince Dorado has been a part of Demand Lucha since its very first event, where he headlined against Amazing Red, Lince Dorado was pivotal in helping the company grow its audience and expand into larger venues. His journey included joining WWE as part of the Lucha House Party, followed by a triumphant return to Demand Lucha, where he captured the Lucha Premier Championship after a grueling four-month battle with Jack Cartwheel.

Demand Lucha’s committee has accepted Lince Dorado’s resignation, expressing immense gratitude for his contributions and wishing him success in his future opportunities. Demand Lucha and our Toronto supporters love Lince Dorado and we cannot put into words how excited we are to see his next steps in his new journey.

On February 20, 2025, at Plancha Tendencies at Parkdale Hall, the new Demand Lucha Commissioner will announce the path forward for crowning a new Lucha Premier Champion in Toronto. In addition, an announcement regarding Lince Dorado's replacement(s) will be made as soon as possible.
