POV: you get married at @lebelvedereweddings with the stunning Gatineau Hills as your backdrop 😍 Can’t wait to shoot another wedding here this summer! ✨
A few favs from Ali & Ian’s gorgeous wedding 🤩 Some things they did to make the most of their wedding photos 👇1. Getting ready location: one thing that is often overlooked/ forgotten is to choose a bright / clean space with lots of natural window light to get the best lighting for photos2. First looks with parents (&/or loved ones) & your bridesmaids: this makes for some sweet memories / emotions captured with your favourite people3. Outdoor ceremony: they chose to have their ceremony outside against the beautiful limestone buildings of @frontenacclub 4. Sunset / Blue hour portraits: we had to rush down to the waterfront to capture a few portraits during their reception, but it was so worth it! They were not only able to get some gorgeous photos, but got to take a few moments just the two of them (plus a third wheel 😜) before they danced the night away with all of their friends / family Save this post for later if you’re engaged & starting your wedding planning 🤍💍
*Save this post for later if you’re getting married soon 💍*Your ceremony is such an exciting (& sometimes nerve racking) experience on your wedding day. Here are a few tips that could be useful after shooting many weddings over the past 7 years 👇1. Location: The location can make a huge difference on the overall vibe / experience. Will you be more comfortable indoors or outdoors? Personally, my most laid back / relaxed weddings take place outdoors. Everyone seems to be more at ease / social outside vs. in a large quiet church (although these can still be beautiful if that’s your preference) 2. Personalized vows: Some people aren’t comfortable sharing their intimate words in front of people, and that’s okay. However, it does make for an extra special touch between the two of you, & your guests will also love hearing the love you share too.3. Music: This is likely an obvious one, but having a different song choice for the bridal party, bride, and your exit song will add extra sentiment to your ceremony. 4. The exit: As you’re walking down the isle, have your guests throw flower pedals, & stop for a dip / kiss for those dreamy photos / video captures 😍And lastly, take it allll in! Look over at all of your loved ones that came to celebrate with you. Take a deep breath & soak up every second as a newly married couple 🤍✨Is there anything I missed? There are so many special moments that make up a wedding day. A few favourites were Vanessa & Jordan’s first looks (Vanessa did a first look with her dad as well) & their personal vows during their ceremony with their close friend officiating 🥹✨ Remember that your wedding day is whatever you want it to be. Include things that feel the most YOU & take out any parts that don’t. A few of these things could be including your dog in your wedding, only inviting close family & friends, having your friend officiate your wedding, changing into another dress midday etc. You can decide to opt out of doing things like a traditional cake cutting, having charcuterie / snacks instead of a big dinner, having no formal bridal party but still having your close friends with you on the morning of. There can sometimes feel pressure to do everything the “traditional” way, but you truly can make the day anything you want. It makes it that more special & fun 🤙Are you planning something different or unique for your wedding? I’d love to hear in the comments below 👇🤍
