🎾 How Does the OTA Serve? Tournament Hosting!

Did you know the Ontario Tennis Association oversees approximately 450 events and over 1,100 tournaments each year for more than 5,500 players across Ontario?

Hosting an OTA tournament at your club:
✅ Inspires members and young players
✅ Generates extra revenue
✅ Raises your club’s profile in the community
✅ Gives players a chance to shine — stars like Vicky Mboko, Bianca Andreescu, Denis Shapovalov, Gabriela Dabrowski, and Daniel Nestor all started with OTA tournaments!

Does your club host tournaments? If not, why not talk to your club president and encourage them to host one — it’s a great way to grow the game and give players more opportunities!

RecycleBalls Canada x OTA x Tennis Canada! ♻️🎾

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with RecycleBalls Canada to help make tennis in Ontario more sustainable!

Canadians use 15 million tennis balls each year, and most end up in landfills. With RecycleBalls Canada—run by passionate volunteers—we can give these balls a second life. Over 500,000 balls have already been recycled!

Clubs across Ontario can now join the program using easy-to-return recycling bins. Recycled balls are repurposed in creative ways—including tennis court resurfacing, like at Sobeys Stadium in 2023.

Together, we’re aiming for 1,000,000 recycled balls per year by 2030.
Let’s make a difference—one ball at a time.

“Together, We Are Ontario Tennis.” 🎾💙

We’re often asked: “What does the OTA do?”
The answer is—a lot happens behind the scenes to keep tennis growing in Ontario.

As the official Provincial Sport Organization for tennis, the OTA supports the sport at every level:
🎾 Club services & community outreach
🎾 Player development opportunities
🎾 Increasing court capacity across the province
🎾 Programs and resources that strengthen the entire tennis ecosystem

Ontario tennis thrives because of hundreds of clubs, thousands of dedicated volunteers and professionals, and hundreds of thousands of players who love the game and inspire more people to play more often.

By working together, we’ll continue building a stronger, more vibrant tennis community.
