🏠 Meet Shelter Movers , a national, volunteer-powered charitable organization providing moving and storage services at no cost to individuals and families fleeing abuse.

The charity collaborates with local businesses and community agencies to support people, primarily women and children, as they transition to a life free of violence. With the support of community services (e.g. shelters, police, schools), Shelter Movers makes all the arrangements to move and store survivors’ belongings securely, on the clients’ terms. The aim is to empower survivors as they transition to a life free of violence.

This Mother’s Day, enjoy a premium high tea experience and become a , with 50% of all ticket sales going directly to Shelter Movers, helping survivors of gender-based violence transition to a better and safer life.

Since joining elle cuisine in 2019 as an Event Manager, Sam has been bringing unforgettable experiences to life. In the summer of 2024, she stepped into my current role as Client Manager and Event Planner, where she gets to work even more closely with clients to turn their visions into reality!

What does Hospitality mean to Sam?

“For me, hospitality is a form of escapism. There’s something magical about stepping into a perfectly curated event or savoring a beautifully crafted meal that transports you, even just for a moment. I love creating that experience for people, immersing them in something special, where every detail feels effortless and every bite tells a story.”

What’s she up to when not planning events?

“When I’m not planning events, you’ll find me in my pink kitchen, cooking up a hearty veggie dish for my family - good food deserves to be shared. Of course, no cooking session is complete without paying the cheese tax to my ever-watchful dogs, who take their duties very seriously. “

🍴 Meet Miranda - COO at elle cuisine 🍴

Miranda has been part of the team for over three years, bringing her passion for hospitality to every aspect of her work.

What does Hospitality mean to Miranda? 🤔

For me, hospitality is an all-encompassing experience that engages all of the senses. I like to think of providing the most hospitable experiences as opportunities to treat guests exactly as they would be if invited into my own home and to sit at my own table. 🏠

What does she like to cook? 🍳

In terms of what I like to cook, I always like to be trying something different and in recent years have done a lot more experimenting with gluten-free baking. A mainstay on my kitchen counter is always a large jar of granola. It’s my mom's recipe and it reminds me of being at home around the breakfast table with my whole (large) family ❤️
