✨TULUM FACTS✨

• The city of Tulum was previously known as Zama, meaning City of Dawn. Its current name means wall, fence or trench in Mayan.

• Tulum ruins are perched on 12 metre high cliffs facing the Caribbean Sea.

• It is the 3rd most visited site in Mexico and the most visited spot in the state of Quintana Roo.

What is a Temazcal?

A Mexican temazcal is a traditional Mesoamerican steam bath, used for both therapeutic and spiritual purposes. The word “temazcal” comes from the Nahuatl words “temāzcalli” (house of heat), and it has been used for centuries by various indigenous cultures in Mexico and Central America.

The temazcal ceremony typically takes place in a small, dome-shaped structure made from stone or mud, resembling an igloo. Participants enter the temazcal and sit or lie on the ground around a central pit where hot stones are placed. Water infused with medicinal herbs is poured over the stones, creating steam.

The experience is often led by a shaman or healer who guides participants through rituals, including chanting, prayer, and meditation. The temazcal is believed to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit, promoting physical healing, detoxification, relaxation, and spiritual renewal.

The process usually involves several rounds of steaming, interspersed with breaks where participants may exit the temazcal to cool down before re-entering. The ceremony can vary in length, lasting from an hour to several hours, depending on the traditions and intentions of the participants.

“The world needs healing around the sacred feminine. Women need women. Coming together as a community can bring healing to the world and each other. The problem is that we’re all taught to stay separate. And because of this, the female collective cannot heal. When we heal our relationship to our own feminine, we can begin to shift our relationships with other women and heal how we relate to each other. We learn to lead with love rather than fear, competition, and insecurity. Women need more women to come together and create a safe and supportive space for growth, healing, and connection. And this is why I created , and this retreat, so that women can bond, connect, explore and heal their feminine together through a modality that has so much power in helping women embody their femininity. I can’t wait to come together in Mexico and continue healing the collective ✨”

Kiana, the founder of , is an international pole dance instructor and performer with just over 2.5 years of experience. Prior to pole, Kiana has 10+ years of experience teaching a variety of movement disciplines; gymnastics, yoga, flexibility, and handstands. Currently calling Toronto home, Kiana’s had the opportunity to perform at various shows and competitions in Canada, recently placing 2nd at CPAC Nationals in the After Hours Heels 2 category.
Kiana is a very detail-oriented instructor and loves incorporating spin technique, sultry lines, and sensual flow (always in heels 😉) into her choreography and classes. Kiana is a huge advocate for feminine embodiment and aims to inspire that connection through all of her teachings and offerings. Whether leading in-studio or virtual group classes, private lessons, or curating content for her on-demand library, Kiana brings her passion to each and finds so much joy in watching her students grow.

She believes that to truly experience the depth of one’s femininity requires a healing of trauma and re-programming of repressive beliefs that society has created around femininity and learning how to create your own personal sense of safety around this side of yourself despite this conditioning. For Kiana, pole dance is a form of meditation and a safe way for her to heal, re-connect to, express and embody all aspects of her femininity, including surrendering, flowing, and being completely present in her body from moment to moment.
