This little gem of a tip is so simple, you may not be able to stop kicking yourself for not realizing it on your own.
Ready??
The video camera being toted around all day by the professional videographer hired by your lovely Bride and Groom represents THEM.
I'll let that sink in for a moment.
On their wedding day, the Bride and Groom can't be everywhere at once or with everyone at once. When they watch the video and go through photos from that incredible day, they'll be able to relive all those special moments and remember all the people who came out to celebrate their story.
Unless you're in the witness protection program, don't shy away from the hired cameras at the next wedding you go to. Don't make that squinty, furrowed brow face that says you'd rather be anywhere but where you are. Tip: Look into the lens, not the light - you're welcome. Don't say "Oh goodness, don't film me, I don't look good" (You look GREAT) or "Whoa! the camera is so close." FYI: lenses vary, and while you think it's zoomed in on your nostril, it's really not.
Whenever you see that camera, smile! Dance. Be a goofball. Be yourself. Give 'em a "cheers!' Blow a kiss or SAY something to your newlyweds. Show them how happy you are for them and how glad you are that out of all the people they could have invited, they chose you.The camera isn't coming to you because you spent all that time doing your hair and make up OR to single you out. It's moving around, looking for guests who are having fun celebrating the Bride and Groom. So, be one of those guests. Be the best wedding guest ever!
