Hello everyone, it's Candace here, the Owner and Lead Planner at Kootenay Wedding Co. 👋
For those who might remember, I also went by Made with Grace Events when I first started bartending back in 2015.
Through the years, KWC has flawlessly executed over 250 weddings and events, each one filled with unforgettable moments! From handling the website, inventory, marketing, client communications, to curating the dress and decor studio, I've been the driving force behind the scenes. Our team has now grown to include 2 Jr. planners, coordinators, and decor specialists, along with a dedicated crew of 4+ onsite event staff offering services like bartending, photobooth, decor setup, drapery installation, Deliveries and cleaning crew. Our range of services has expanded to include planning, day-of coordination, decor rentals, Mirror Photobooth, Echo Audio guest book, Hitch Vintage Mobile Bar, wholesale florals, bartenders, timeline design, service staff, and a bridal studio.

Over the next year we are taking a few more steps to help make your planning process even more easier. I am thrilled to embark on this path and see where the future takes us in the coming years.

Huge thanks to all the amazing support from friends, family, strangers, and vendor relationships who have referred clients to us. Special gratitude to the first clients who believed in us and spread the word. And of course, a big shoutout to my team, both new and old, whose dedication has been instrumental in our business's growth!

Happy Pride Month!

I’ve had the privilege of witnessing many unique and beautiful love stories. June is Pride Month, I want to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community, whose love and strength are so inspiring.

Every couple I meet shows me something new about love. Seeing the way you laugh, look at each other, and your loving quirks is a reminder that love is always so beautiful.

Here's a hot take-

Your wedding 'formal' photos, don't have to be a drag. In fact, the 1-2 hours that you spend with your photography team doing 'formals' can (and should!) be one of the funnest & most memorable parts of your day.

How?

1. Book a photographer who isn't afraid to think outside the box and take some risks. Someone who exudes playfulness, and can show you some examples of fun wedding photos in their portfolio.

2. Schedule & plan for fun! Sorry, but planning to do all of your photos in a landscaped, perfectly, manicured rose garden is not likely to lead to much excitement 🤷

Chat with your photographer about how you can incorporate something unique and fun into your time together and PLAN IT. Don't expect it to just happen!

- Go through the drive-thru and grab a couple burgers.
- Shoot a couple hoops at a local basketball court.
- Jump on a trampoline.
- Swing by a local brewery for a quick pint (always get permission from the manager before taking photos indoors!)
- Have a race!

3. Wear comfortable shoes, and outfits that allow you to actually move.

If you are literally unable to sit down in your wedding dress, you're doing yourself (and your photos, and your wedding day experience, and your resulting memories of your wedding day) a disservice.

There's absolutely no way you can expect to have fun on your wedding day if your clothing is so prohibitively tight and uncomfortable that you actually can't move. Believe it or not, it is indeed possible to look both stunningly good on your wedding day AND have (nearly) full range of motion.

4. Chill out. You cannot and will not be able to relax and truly enjoy your wedding photos, if you are tightly wound and trying to control every single thing. You MUST find a way to chill out.

Your clothing is going to get a bit dirty. Your hair might get a bit wind blown. You might forget your bouquet. The grooms boutonniere might break off. It might rain.

None 👏 Of 👏 This 👏 S**t 👏 Matters.

What matters is your attitude about it. Choose happiness.
