Wondering what to do for Valentines Day? Grab tickets to Stephen Fearing for the best date night of 2025!

Coming up for Valentine’s Day, Stephen Fearing with M.C. Hansen. Tickets are $40 (taxes included) and available at our box office or website.
Stephen Fearing & M.C. Hansen blend the poetic grit of Canadian roots with the melodic elegance of Scandi-Americana. Fearing, a JUNO-winning co-founder of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, is acclaimed for his evocative storytelling, soulful voice, and masterful acoustic guitar work. Hansen, an award-winning Danish songwriter, guitarist, and leader of The Sentimentals, weaves “Nordic-noir” into his music, fusing backroads twang with the sleek tones of sonic-folk autobahn. Together, they bring a fresh interpretation to The Empathist, Fearing’s recently released 13th solo album, as they tour Canada and Europe. For select shows, they will appear as a duo, offering an intimate and compelling reimagining of these songs.

Coming up February 13. The one and the only, Ben Caplan. A show that always glows, get your tickets now at our website or box office.
Ben Caplan is both the roar of the hurricane and the eye of the storm. He has an uncanny ability to channel both wild abandon and quiet introspection. His songwriting pulls from many diverse influences but both his music and his lyrics regularly draw from his Jewish heritage. Often mixing biblical imagery and klezmer inflected melodies, Caplan re-appropriates ancient sounds and themes with a decidedly contemporary twist.

Ben released his first studio album in 2011, and has spent the last ten years recording music and performing to ever growing audiences in music clubs and theatres around the world.

Adam has invited Rose Morrison to open his sold out February 9 show at the Marigold. We can’t wait to spend a beautiful evening with Rose, Adam, and you.
Rose Morrison is an artist who embodies the roar of the sea with a pure and delicate voice, captivating audiences for nearly 25 years as a professional musician. Hailing from Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada, this versatile fiddler has carved out an impressive career, collaborating with luminaries such as Oscar and Grammy Award winner Glen Hansard, Irish folk legend Breanndán O Beaglaoich (Breanndán Begley), and celebrated Scottish-Canadian tenor John McDermott. She has graced the stage of Carnegie Hall twice, most recently in March 2024 for a tribute to Sinéad O’Connor and Shane MacGowan. Rose has also recorded three albums, toured extensively across North America, Europe, and Japan with the Cottars, and won three East Coast Music Awards.

Her latest album, The River She Knows, marks a significant evolution in her artistry, reflecting a newfound connection to her Cape Breton roots after living away for over a decade. While Rose has long been recognized for her fierce, untamed fiddle playing, she has also been quietly writing songs for years, though rarely performing them. This album showcases her as a songwriter, a role she embraced with the encouragement of award-winning singer-songwriter and producer Dave Gunning, who collaborated with her starting in November 2021. The first song they worked on, “Let Our Love,” a simple yet powerful ode to enduring love, was released as a single in February 2022 to popular and critical acclaim.
This show is sold out.

About the Marigold...

For a number of years, the town of Truro lacked an arts and cultural centre to host various live performances and arts education programs. When the former Centennial Theatre, located in the heart of Truro, became available, a plan to purchase and develop the facility into that long-awaited venue was created. That plan resulted in the money for both the purchase and the renovation of the facility being raised through a Community Economic Development Investment Funds cooperative venture.

The Centre houses a 208-seat theatre, a small art gallery, a workshop space for arts-in-education programming, a sports heritage hall, a boardroom, a concession area, and offices. With the strong support of the community and various organizations, the Marigold Cultural Centre provides a variety of cultural programming to a large number of Truro-area residents, while also providing a major downtown focus for economic development.
