Sha’teri Francis Gene Hill Kenha �Feb 25th 1943 – July 2, 2024
Sha’teri Francis Gene Hill, sub-chief of Tehanakarine Bear clan, Warrior, Farmer, Ironworker, and a Fishermen, passed away on the afternoon of July 2, 2024 at Kingston General Hospital. He leaves behind his wife Belinda, his sisters Shirley and Vera, his daughter Niaka’a and her children, as well as his grandchildren Anthony Antone, Nikaronhiasa Flint, Jamie George, Dylan Hill, Andrew Hill, Emily Hill, Sadie Jacobs-Hill, Sage Shilling, his great-grand child Lorenzo George, and the many members of Tehatina’karine Rotiskarewake Bear clan of the Mohawk Nation. We are all in morning.
He was predeceased by his sons Lorenzo Allan George, Thonenyote William Hill, Nhira’a Shilling and siblings Clinton Hill, Seward Jay Hill, Robbie Hill, Vernie Hill, Connie Perron, Perel Rupert, Ethel Gilcrest and parents William Issac Hill and Bernice (Zachriah) Hill kenha.
There will be a memorial to help in the grieving process for those left behind at 10am on Saturday, July 27th at the Deseronto Arena / Community Recreation Centre at 51 Mechanic St, Deseronto, Ontario. Members of Gene’s clan, the Tehatina’karine Bear Clan, all the other clans of the Mohawks, his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life are invited to attend.
