They say time slows down when we experience new things, so thank you to everyone who made 2018 the amazing long ride that it was. From the countless number of wedding weekends, to the special moments in between, meeting each of you this year was truly unforgettable (especially since I’ve watched your beautiful faces a billion times in the edit 🙋🏻♂️)

As we begin 2019, I’d urge you to take in this idea of experiencing life:
There are 3 versions of you.
The anticipating self,
the experiencing self,
and the reminiscent self.
One living for the future, the present, and the past.
Often times, we romanticize our anticipating and reminiscent selves, boosting what we will see and what we have seen… but never truly boosting what we are currently seeing. Our experiencing selves are often neglected. We may feel the hype of planning a trip to a foreign land, but frequently emphasize the “wow it’s too hot and the lines are too long” or “where the eff is the wifi” mindset when we’re actually there – in the same way that we look back and think “wow that trip was amazing” in hindsight... but do we honestly experience that “amazing-ness”?

For all my self-made and improving friends who constantly prepare in the anticipating self,
For any couples looking back to happier times in the reminiscent self (maybe through a wedding video 😏),
And for anyone who feels disjointed in time and place,
Bring out your experiencing self.
The entire beauty of your life is built on it.

A #WeddingWednesday TEASER ♥️ //
💍🙊 Driving to Ontario's most southern city, waiting through some hefty traffic, bunking with some family friends, and partying with one of the most friendliest couples. That's what it took to shoot this film, and what a huuuuge time it was to be part of it all!
Right from our initial meeting, I knew Steph and Kevin were a duo that would be a blast to work with. Laughing about wedding stories, listening to their experiences as an undergrad couple, and then getting a real sense of their families and genuine relationships with their closest circle. There is so much more to a wedding than a single film could ever show, and it's always such an honour to try and encapsulate the essence of it all. With Steph's cheerful dedication to the planning and Kevin's bright attitude to supporting her every move, I knew the entire day would be amazing.
And I hope this quick InstaClip shows just how energizing it was to be there ❤️🕺🏻💃🏻💍

💞💍 One of the sweetest couples out there – from their clear appreciation for the city of Hamilton, their exceptional taste in a good time, and their unquestionable love for their family and each other. There is just something so remarkable about their story together. When I first met with Alex in November, she mentioned Yoan wouldn't be there because of distant living arrangements. Distant as in California distant. And starting from this detail, as one could easily conclude, there was this almost tangible love you could see in her eyes as she quickly broke down their story for me.
And when the two joined together this weekend, there was nothing short of this tangible love.

For you new followers out there, here’s a snippet about me:
I'm a wedding filmmaker born-and-raised out of the gritty, charming, and sometimes wholesome city of Hamilton, Ontario. If I'm not seen editing with a large black coffee in Centennial Parkway's Coffee Culture, the Starbucks in the Meadowlands, or in the basement of McMaster University campus, I'm probably out with my camera. I could be driving to Sherman Falls blasting some Bocelli on the speakers, walking along the Bruce Trail with The Beatles in my ears, or near Confederation Park wishing James Bay could do a pop-up show during golden hour. And if I'm not catching up on Peaky Blinders or rewatching The Godfather Part 2, the evening usually sees me tickling the ivories or attempting some Ed Sheeran on guitar.
For the past 4 years, I've been shooting events and weddings professionally, and I'm always super thankful I get to surround myself with such loving and supportive people. The witnessing of love, the words of love, the authentic curiosity and wonder of love is what touches my heart. Every single time I ask a couple how their relationship came to be, I live for their answer… their hesitant reply that always starts with a smile, an undeniable burst of emotion, and nothing but happiness.
