Oct 8 -- The detachment received a call from a resident of James Smith Cree Nation because her boyfriend took her truck sometime over the night without her permission. The truck was returned to her within the day.
Oct 8---The detachment received a call from a resident of Melfort because her two teenage daughters left the house and had not returned. She was concerned for their safety and did not know where they were. The teenagers returned to home 15 minutes after the police were called.
Oct 9 -- The police received a report from Social Services about some disturbing behaviour being displayed by some young people. Police will looking into the matter to determine if it is a police responsibility.
Oct 9 -- Police received a report of possible abuse by some parents in Naicam. Police are working with Social Services.
Oct 10 -- Police received a report of a vehicle that left a gas station in Melfort without paying for $60 worth of gasoline. The vehicle left towards the west and the licence plate provided to the police was not correct. Police are reviewing video surveillance.
Oct 10 - Police received a call from a resident of James Smith Cree Nation because someone broke their TV and PS5. Names of the suspects were provided to police and it is being investigated to determine what exactly happened.
Oct 11 -- The detachment received numerous reports of break and enters and attempted break and enters to garages and sheds in Melfort. Occurred sometime over the night and is being investigated by the police.
Oct 11 -- The detachment received a call from a Parole Officer in Prince Albert because the full parole of a resident of James Smith Cree Nation was revoked. A warrant of apprehension was issued for the male. Police located the male at home and returned him to the Saskatchewan Penn in Prince Albert.
Oct 12
Night shift members were on patrol and located some fires in the RM of Fletts Springs. Police contact the Fire Dispatch and were advised that they were controlled burns and there was no need for concern.
Oct 12 -- Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Birch Hills and police saw the vehicle parked at the bar earlier in the evening. Vehicle located by police but it was parked and not being driven. Police were not able to arrest the driver for impaired driving so they ensured that they would not be driving later.
Oct 13 -- Police received a call from a resident of Melfort about two males who were in the caller’s yard. Police located the two males and ensure that they did not return to the area.
Oct 13 -- While on patrol, police were approached by a 17 year old in Star City. While at a pit party, the male was sucker punched by another male and his jaw was broken in three places. The male suspect who did the punching, is now being sought by police.
Oct 14 -- Night shift members on patrol and stopped a vehicle in Kinistino. The driver had been drinking and provided breath samples into the roadside screening device. The driver’s licence was suspended for 60 days, vehicle impounded for 3 days and also issued a ticket for driving without a supervising driver.
Oct 14 --The detachment received a report from a resident of Melfort because their vehicle had been broken into and damaged.
