I promised that I'd post a wide shot of what my place ACTUALLY looks like when I'm taking photos. Swipe!

Don't be fooled by the loveliness of Instagram! Beside every shot on every feed is messiness, imperfect and unedited, also known as Life. Embrace it. You're on the right journey.

All my photos to date have been taken with my phone (Google Pixel 3XL), I use lots of paper props, and occasionally I use Photoshop (like in the first shot, to join the 2 pieces of background paper).

But I'm looking to get a more professional camera. I have a few ideas, but I'd love to hear your suggestions. Leave a comment below 👇

Moving to a new home can be quite the epic ordeal. If you know someone who's moving soon soften the blow with a thoughtful housewarming bouquet! My repeat client did just that with this custom bouquet made of dried mini pampas, bunny tails, eulalia, eucalyptus, ferns and faux roses. Pastel paradise!

Celebrating the milestones and wins of life is important. We need to empower ourselves with goals, self-appreciation and maybe a little bubbly!

I was honoured to make this simple white faux rose wristlet and boutonniere for a wonderful couple who were married 50 years ago and celebrated their incredible achievement last weekend. Cheers to maaaaany more years of romance, love and friendship ❤️

The Cinnamon Rose won by hair in the poll I did a couple days ago. Isn't it lovely?! Do I have an unhealthy appreciation for brown flowers? Look how it matches my hand 🙄 Someone stop me!

2 reasons why Instagram DMs are great for getting exactly what you want when it comes to bespoke florals:

1. I can send you tons of pictures and videos, so you can choose your PERfect blooms. As you can imagine I have lots of flowers, but I narrow it down for you, making the process smooth and seamless.

2. DMs come instantly, so there's no waiting around for someone to check their email. You can literally decide on what's right and have an approved bouquet with minutes.

These pictures are from a bouquet I created last week, which was based on one I did a while back. We changed the focal flowers though, so check out the iterations we went through before arriving at The One (first 2 pics)!

(I originally designed it with bright white paper palms but they weren't jiving with the creamy roses, so I painted them to match! Much better.)

If I'm honest, 3 weeks ago red flowers weren't my go-to. Because I'm not generally drawn to red I found them challenging to work with. But it all came together in the end and I'm happy with the result - picked up today! Thanks for supporting my small business ❤️

Let's do BEFORE & AFTERS! I have the final floral arrangement, as well as the courtyard I "planted" for them.

The brief for the courtyard flower boxes was "cheerful and bright." For the arrangement - "cinnamon." And as you can see from the before picture of the pump - "cover it!"

The beautiful boxwood hedge hides a multitude of sins and really sets the tone for your mini Irish vacation! Combined with incredibly realistic faux cedar trees, hanging baskets and wisteria to cover the razor wire and you have yourself the complete Alice in Wonderland experience!

Head down this Saturday for a full Irish breakfast and the rugby: South Africa vs British and Irish Lions!

I was working on a bouquet today, but guess what? I stopped because it wasn't working out. I did this instead, some playing around.

Sometimes too much "push" backfires and you just have to swim downstream, you know?!

Here's something fun you can do with bespoke faux florals: match them to their surroundings! Like a chameleon, octopus, tree frog... They can blend but still add a pop of nature where it's needed. (Swipe to see this one in its natural habitat!)

My client for this piece, , requested 3 custom arrangements for each of 3 spaces, all with different focal colours but a similar aesthetic.

If you want to see it in person, this one is in the main Smith's bar. Check out the GORgeous vase!! It also features one of my 12" folded paper palms in Forest, a deep teal hue. The owners have done a beautiful renovation of the space - worth a trip to Gastown to see it for sure!!

Rules are meant to be broken, right?! Here I exploded 2 flower laws:

1. Flowers and leaves aren't black. But if you have a can of spray paint, a faux monstera and an anthurium are instantly transformed into something unexpected.

2. Orchids bend over. But why? This one is up and proud, complementing the black with its deep deep red.

What are your thoughts? What other flower rules would you like to see broken?

When do flowers become art? Is there a line that gets crossed? Experimenting with mass, colour and shape today, which feels very creative, artsy and just plain goooooood.

I've always been an art lover. I'm grateful that my work is creative, that I can push my boundaries in different ways. This feeds my soul so much ❤️

What feeds your soul?

The decades that really speak to me are the 60s and 70s. I think it's because when I was young I used to watch vintage musicals and shows with my Granny on satellite TV. The costumes, the scores, the colours...

Here's my nostalgic nod to decades gone by. The now ubiquitous monstera was actually super popular in my favourite decades.

Are you a vintage lover, or feel an affinity to a certain decade? The popularity of dried botanicals is a trend from the 1970s and 80s that's certainly back with a vengeance, and I'm definitely embracing it!

When the Junuary rain sets in... Remembering this photo from last summer: a beautiful faux stuck in the soil in the back alley, basking in the sunshine.

Black and white photography is such an amazing medium. You can take almost any photo and make it an instant classic with the Desturation slider. What do you think? Do you prefer colour? I like both.

Happy birthday weekend to the wonderful of ! Hope you have an amazing day - all our best!

I made her a special, 100% natural bouquet that has foraged helecho ferns from Hardy Island at the mouth of Jervis Inlet, as well as dried cow parsnip from Jericho Park in Vancouver (gathered by my daughter). Colour comes in with the cute bunny tails, accented with white eryngium, nigella and mini pampas.

Long weekends in the backwoods of BC take some planning. For example, glass bottles of wine are too heavy and breakable to pack. What's the alternative?

I'll be honest, when I popped into Everything Wine the other day I didn't have "wine in a can" on my list. But how could I resist something so adorable (slender, colourful) and convenient (finishable in one afternoon of day drinking)? AND it matches my faux anthuriums. Well, as you can imagine, I'm now a fan even though I haven't tasted it yet!/

Watch my stories for how this sparkling rosé tastes in a natural habitat. Princess Louisa Inlet, here we come!
