JJ Showcase #2
FB memories reminded me that it was exactly 6 years ago tonight that I met these fine critters, when my son and I went to see them perform in Cochrane. I had already been corresponding with Ryan McMahon (Fox) about a possible show and been impressed by what I'd found on YouTube. But I was not prepared for the deeply honest and fearless performance I witnessed, it just blew me away. Ryan, Chris Arruda (Lion) and Cory Woodward (Bear), three brilliant solo artists in their own right, are living proof to the saying, "The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts". (coined by Aristotle, an early supporter of LBF). Needless to say, we were blessed to have the trio perform at the Joint on June 13, 2014 (concert #40), the first of many shows featuring the fellas collectively and in solo performances. Pick any CD from their catalogs, you won't go wrong.

Dock vis-a-vis Bay
Just a quick little gem from Saturday's show. Thanks to The Middle Coast and all the great folks for making our 50th pretty memorable!
Roy's Beautiful Song to Tracey
An unexpected highlight from Friday's show with Suzie Vinnick as Roy sings the song he performed for Tracey at their wedding 14 years ago. What a sweet surprise!
Well, the kudos continue to come in for one of our faves, Suzie Vinnick! Tonight she won two Maple Blues Awards - Best Female Vocalist and Best Songwriter (she beat out, like, six dudes for that one)! Way to go, Suzie! Can't wait to see you at the Jeans Joint in March!
