As a diehard romcom fan, Runaway Bride was one of my favourite movies growing up. This shoot took on many different themes over the span of its planning and embraced a bunch of fun elements but I’ll always look back on this one as our own take on a Runaway Bride.

Made to wait at the altar (who’s got time for that?) she takes the essentials; her cake, disco ball, flowers and fur, and goes for a joyride to the coast before wrapping up the night with a killer party for one. 🎂 🫧

If you’ve reached out inquiring about decor outside of a planning package in the past, you’ve probably received a reply saying we couldn’t accommodate you… Well, I’m excited to say that after months of overhauling and re-organizing Elysian’s decor inventory, we’re FINALLY able to launch decor rentals and decorating packages for 2024 (better late than never, right?)! We have nearly 5000 pieces, loads of which are new for this season and more even to come.

My face when I opened my e-mail last night to find had let me know I am a finalist for TWO this year 🥹😍

I am so so honoured and grateful to be able to share that I am one of three finalists for each Wedding Planner of the Year and Wedding Officiant of the Year! Thank you so much to everyone who cheers me on every day, keeps pushing me to be my best and puts their trust in me. I am so lucky to have a career I’m so passionate about and such a vibrant community around me 🥰🫶🏻

KATIE + CATHERINE! (+ Elton)

Sometimes I meet a couple and it’s a slow burn, I spend a few months not knowing if they think I’m crazy or not until they get a little more comfortable around me… and sometimes it feels like five minutes into our first call, I have new best friends and like even if they *do* think I’m crazy, they appreciate my crazy. Katie and Catherine were the latter. From the jump, it just felt like I was talking to old friends and I knew it was the perfect fit and their wedding was going to be so my vibe. Fast forward to this past August and it was seriously such a dream day. They even went along with it when I played my crazy dog mom card and made them each paddles of Elton’s face for their shoe game. 🙈 🐶(Highly recommend this, by the way)

It’s absurdly hard to believe that another season has come to a close, but with a final sweet woodland elopement last week, I can officially call it a wrap on 2023! It was a whirlwind season and I can’t wait to take a breath and dive into all of the galleries so I can relive so many amazing memories 🥹🥰 By the look of our IG feed you would probably think we had nothing on the go this season (oops!) but I am looking forward to sharing all that we’ve been up to over the next few months. 👌🏻

Our 2025 calendar is officially open as well and proposals have been steadily going out to couples on the waitlist for the last week. The last of the waitlist proposals are going out this morning, so if you’ve been waiting for one and don’t receive it today then please touch base so I can look into it. I am so pumped to have three 2025 discovery calls on my calendar for today - let’s gooooooo!!! 🥳🥳

Time for a fresh outlook and a fresh look 🥰

I have loved my logo for the last five years but recently I’ve felt as my brand has grown, it was time for something new to represent that.
I told I was in need of a fresh, clean and simple logo and she delivered exactly that and added a pop of flair I didn’t even know I needed.

If you’ve been here from the beginning you may remember my very first (homemade) logo and how obviously homemade it was 😂 I’m so glad I’ve had Ashley to be able to go into my brain and create a logo and brand guidelines for me as well since then. There is sooo much value in a professional logo, I highly encourage any business owners to make the leap if you haven’t already ❤️

We had so much fun with our participants last year that Jenna and I just knew we had to bring you a version 2.0 this year!

The Modern Love Workshop is a hybrid workshop for both wedding planners and photographers alike, offering the perfect learning experience for those looking to level up their business, gain more confidence, learn the ins and outs and logistics of a wedding day, network with likeminded individuals, and capture and enjoy some epic content while you’re at it!

Planners will get an all-access pass to everything in my brain, with very limited seats to allow for a more intimate, in-depth and personalized mentoring experience.

One of my favourite parts about mini weddings really is the team! Before our first session, I didn’t really realize what I was asking of my vendors - it truly is the busiest part of the wedding day on repeat with little downtime for them between couples. But, we love the excitement of welcoming each couple and getting to share this unique experience with them 🤗

Simon and Brady really have working together down to an art - they’re so in sync and each takes care to ensure the other has all of the shots that they need before moving on to the next location. I think often couples who inquire about minis are worried they won’t have enough time to get enough photos or video, but these two are such pros and really have it down to an art.

Before your mini wedding I’ll work with you to make sure we have your priorities down Pat and I’ll create a custom session timeline to illustrate that we’ve dedicated enough time to your most important parts of the day. We want you to enjoy this experience to the fullest and we’ve learned a lot over the last four seasons of doing these together!

When I decided I wanted to add an audio guestbook to our inventory, I had no idea how much fun it would be watching guests leave messages. Literally, hours of entertainment to be had in just watching people line up to have a conversation with themselves… and the best part is, they can’t erase what they record 😂 so, you can imagine the entertainment continued after the wedding when it came time to cull the recordings and edit them all together for our couples. Big big big props to my personal engineer and big brain man for always taking on my crazy projects and usually making them better (and more difficult) than I had imagined. Can’t wait to share this with many more couples this summer. What colour phone should we get next?! 📸 .rachelle

As many of us find ourselves doing in the new year, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately. Looking back at how my business, and how I as a business owner have grown over the years is always eye opening. So much has evolved - my taste, standards, processes, confidence and goals to name a few.

One thing that has always remained a constant is the desire to use this business and this platform as a creative outlet. I’ve always been the type of person who has seen things and had the drive to want to create myself. This may not always turn into something beautiful or even something worth sharing with you, but it always at least gives me the release I’m looking for. It’s so easy to get burnt out, and I find that allows space for imposter syndrome to sneak in and start telling me I shouldn’t be pursuing any creative outlets because so many people out there do it far better than I do. But, even if I may not be the best woodworker, or resin artist, or whatever my medium is that day, I’ve decided it really doesn’t matter. Because the release is the creative process, whether it fails or not. Every once in a while is a result I’m SO proud of and excited about and love to show off, and those successes, even if they’re not successes to others, are just the icing on the cake!

So, I’ve decided Mondays are going to be my creative days. Days to explore new projects - whether it’s a new style of table number or wedding signage, building a dog bed or night stand, making over a dresser or even just finishing redoing my office wall that has been half torn down for months now. Make time for the things you love doing, it’s worth it 🫶🏻

Today is a *very* special day, it’s Kristyn’s birthday! Those of you that know Kristyn know she is truly one of a kind. She’s sweet beyond measure, always up for a challenge, she’s a ray of light no matter the situation, and she always knows what to say to keep me grounded. I am so beyond grateful for the series of events that led me to her!

Kristyn and Ben got married in September on the Thursday following Fiona, and while we just barely got power back in their venue by the skin of our teeth, the day went off absolutely perfectly. ❤️❤️❤️

The BEST advice from a true artist! I always tell our couples, before making a recommendation I want to see what your floral inspiration photos look like and from there we match the florist to the inspo. Florists are true artists and their own styles are what make them unique! 🥰

How to choose the florist who is right for you 🌸

Your floral arrangements are the centrepiece to any event, and can really make the first impression - so choosing the right florist for the project is key!

Our best advice? Choose your florist based on their style and ability to create bouquets that already look like what you want.

Have a look at their portfolio. Are any of the photos they share on social media in-line with your style? 😍 You'll know it when you see it!

Once you know what style you're going for, what your floral needs are, what your budget is, you'll have an easier time selecting the right florist.

Here it is, The Wedding Workshop! I am so excited to bring you this new and unique workshop alongside the very talented and knowledgeable Jenna Rachelle Photography.

When I started this business, I networked like it was my full-time job. Quickly I learned that photography had the most impact on the wedding day timeline, was often the client’s top priority, and that photographers were often put into the role of planner or coordinator when one wasn’t present. The planner/photographer relationship is SO important and any seasoned planner can tell you that there are a million moving parts in a day that need to take photography into consideration. Understanding a photographer’s needs as it pertains to our role can make or break a wedding day!

So, we put our heads together and have designed the perfect learning experience. Designed for both planners and photographers looking to level up their businesses, gain more confidence, and learn the ins and outs of a wedding day. We will go over the aspects of both roles that intersect, teach you how to work effectively together and with other vendors, and break out into dedicated planner/photographer lessons in order to come together at the end of the day for an epic styled shoot to give you content for marketing!
