Congratulations Marya and Darcy! It was my pleasure to offificiate your Wedding Ceremony this afternoon on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional gathering place of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene people and the heartland of the Métis Nation at Birds Hill park. A perfect day- sunny, brilliant colored leaves and a mild gust of wind. The Blanket Ceremony, which is an acknowledgement of the joining of their families and lives together and honouring their commitment to each other, was the highlight of the ceremony with the honour song on the drums. Wishing you and your family all the best.

Just finished officiating a Legality ceremony for Stacey and Evan this afternoon at Birds Hill Park at Carriageway, a covered site. Thank goodness they didn’t have the heavy rain we had yesterday with which to contend. There were several tense moments watching the weather forecast for today. Wasps were the only culprits. Think we just escaped a downpour from those black clouds behind them. They are off to celebrate with a family dinner at Carnavale! Wishing them and their new arrival, Hayden, much good health and happiness always. Congratulations! All the best!

First wedding I’ve officiated where the Bride’s Mother and Bride’s daughter were her Bridemaids. It was also very special for Kim’s twin sons to give their Mom away. Sure glad the wind didn’t blow us into “Kansas City”. Noneless, it was a lovely day for an outdoor wedding. Wishing you all the best Kim and Jesse!

Very happy for Amanda and Sam for being able to finally have their Wedding Ceremony after many delays in dates and changes in venues up to and as recent as Thursday, since their journey began in September, 2020. Their Wedding Ceremony and reception were held at the Fairmont Hotel with 150 guests in attendance with tributes to those whose memories they hold dearly, but, unfortunately were unable to be there in person to share in this moment. A special table of remembrance was created for all to see. Amanda and Sam chose “Love is Patient” and “Blessing of the Hands” as their readings. Words of advice on “How to Make a Beautiful Life Together” were shared. Wishing them all the best of happiness and many bright days ahead, and time to enjoy life. You were finally able to celebrate your union in marriage today!!!Congratulations Amanda and Sam!! You were a wonderful couple with which to work. You made it!!!! Cheers!!! 🥂🥂🥂

They included a line from their favorite movie Parks’n Recreation - “I love you and I like you” in their vows. They are off to celebrate at Cibo’s.
