Tylor & Eric’s wedding was a serene celebration with a wonderfully unique twist. They kept things low-key and authentic, skipping traditions that didn’t resonate with them. Their ceremony, held in a peaceful clearing in a nature reserve, felt intimate and personal as guests stood or sat wherever they felt most comfortable.

Eric’s love for beekeeping was beautifully woven into the day, from his bee pin to honeycomb wine glasses and the sweet wedding favours—jars of his own honey! In a touch of irony, Eric got stung by a wasp during the ceremony, proving that even nature has a sense of humour.

And speaking of laughs, both grooms’ moms unknowingly showed up in the same dress, creating a moment that had everyone smiling. This day was proof that weddings don’t have to be elaborate to bee extraordinary. 🐝 Swipe through for the magic!

I'm not a great dancer (don't make me prove it), but as a wedding photographer, I want to remind couples planning a first dance (especially if it's choreographed) to remember that a dance performance isn't just about what your body is doing. Don't let it show on your face that you're concentrating on your choreography. Have fun with it and let your guests see on your face that you're feeling great! Your photos will look better too. 😉📸

Jordan & Adam's backyard wedding was NOT your typical backyard wedding. Their family farm set the scene, which was the perfect location not just because of its sentimental value, but also because it's so visually stunning, you'd swear it's a fancy wedding venue. What stood out most to me about Jordan & Adam's wedding day is how emotionally charged the day was. From the first look, to family photos, the vow exchange to speeches, each and every part of the day unfolded with the biggest, most genuine smiles of pure joy, loving embraces, and softly falling tears. I often describe a wedding as a rollercoaster of emotion and their day exemplified that perfectly. Jordan & Adam and their families were so beautifully vulnerable and expressive with their emotions that day. It was such a privilege to be trusted to capture the story (and rollercoaster 🥹) of their wedding.

Putting people at ease is so important to me as a photographer there to document vulnerable moments. I'm fact, in a 5-star review Jordan left for me, she said, "We had never met Ben before our wedding day but had guests come up to us and ask if he was a friend because we were so comfortable around him," which is a huge compliment and means a lot to me. 😊 Thanks again to Jordan & Adam for allowing me to be part of your gorgeous, emotional farm wedding. It was truly a treat and a privilege, and could not have happened without the epic team of vendors. 👇

Emily & Adam’s wedding at Grey Silo Golf Course was a day full of love, laughter, and heartfelt moments. The modern rustic charm of the venue, with its exposed wood beams and vaulted ceilings, was the perfect mix of casual charm and romance for a celebration bursting with family and warmth.

Surrounded by the nearby historic farmstead, we captured wedding portraits that blended timeless beauty with playful energy. The couple's family brought an incredible mix of humour and heartfelt stories that turned each speech and toast into unforgettable memories.

After 12 years of photographing weddings full-time, you'd think I'd seen it all. But Ashley, Jocelyn, and Laura's commitment ceremony taught me that love still finds ways to surprise and inspire. 🌈

Capturing a relationship this vibrant and multi-faceted was a joyful challenge. Posing three beautiful souls—each a unique part of a whole—meant rethinking everything to make sure every moment felt true to them.

A warm summer day at what is now Wrenhouse by Stella set the stage, complete with personalized touches like D&D dice favours (talk about rolling a crit on love!). I also made use of a prism to create rainbow light over the triad during the ceremony, and it felt like a perfect nod to their beautifully q***r identities.

Swipe through to see how beautifully diverse love can be! 🏳️‍🌈✨

Christina & Nigel’s wedding at Vieni Estates was filled with so much love, joy, and raw emotion.

From the tearful moment when Christina’s father walked her down the aisle to the heartfelt hug he shared with Nigel at the altar, every part of the day was rich with emotion.

The couple's personalized vows brought everyone to tears as they shared stories of their connection and the adventures they've been on together. And when it came time for the speeches, the love and laughter flowed freely, bringing tears of joy to both the couple and their guests.

It was truly a day to remember, celebrating the depth of their love with everyone they hold dear.

When I'm photographing two people who are so clearly overjoyed to marry each other, I can't help but feel happy. Jennifer & Jeff didn't stop smiling the entire duration of their brunch wedding at . Adorably, the couple helped each other get ready, before we hit the town for photos. The smiles continued in large part due to the humour and joy expertly brings to officiating a wedding ceremony. I loved celebrating with Jennifer & Jeff and wish them a lifetime of happiness! ❤️

When people tell you that rain on your wedding day is good luck, are they just trying to make you feel better? Honestly, I feel like it is good luck. It's a shame to move your outdoor ceremony plans last-minute, but if you're like Sarah & Cameron who planned to have an indoor ceremony all along, the rain didn't get in the way of their day all that much. We even made the best of it and made good use of their swanky clear umbrellas for some epic photos. I'd say we lucked out. ☔️ What do you think about rainy weddings?

Nini and Carter's intimate wedding at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory was like stepping into a real-life fairy tale. Their ceremony, filled with calmness and joy, matched the serene beauty of the venue perfectly. To top it all off, they released butterflies at the end of the ceremony, adding a touch of magic to the day. Guests enjoyed exploring the vibrant space, making the day as relaxing as it was enchanting. A perfect reflection of Nini and Carter’s laid-back vibe.

Photographing weddings is about more than just capturing beautiful images; it's about documenting genuine emotions and authentic moments. While expressions of love between the wedding couple are expected, I'm especially touched when I capture those heartfelt interactions between each partner and their parents or other family & friends. From the moment I meet couples, I strive to create a safe space where they can openly express their true emotions without judgement. My gentle and kind demeanor, combined with an empathetic and sensitive soul, helps couples feel comfortable. By being myself and prompting couples to express their feelings to each other, I'm able to capture those raw, genuine emotions that make every wedding so special. Let's create those beautiful, authentic memories together. Visit my website for more info or reach out directly for availability!

Always a photographer, never a bride.

What inspires me most as a wedding photographer? People. I’m fascinated by how individuals reveal their true personalities and deepest emotions, especially during weddings. These moments of unguarded joy are what I live to capture.

I approach each wedding with a sense of curiosity rather than a strict checklist. While many photographers have a set plan, I search for those unexpected moments that tell a deeper, more interesting story. It's about finding the magic beyond the typical wedding shots.

When photographing, I love to ask couples or groups open-ended questions that spark genuine interactions. Whether the responses are heartfelt or funny, they always lead to authentic moments worth capturing.

My photography balances curiosity & observation with creativity & direction. I often set up a shot with a specific vision, but the real magic happens when an unexpected moment disrupts my plan, and I adapt to capture something even more beautiful.

Send this post to a couple who are wedding planning. ❤️

Marijka & Amit's rainy micro wedding was a beautiful testament to their love and laid-back style. During a break in the rain, we wandered through the serene Gage Park in Hamilton, capturing unforgettable moments outside the greenhouse, in the gardens, and among the vibrant spring trees. Their deep connection truly stood out, making their desire for a relaxed wedding experience come to life. I specialize in creating natural, heartfelt images that tell your unique love story, even on a rainy day. #

Being a good wedding photographer isn't just about photographing weddings well. Being a good wedding photographer is about making deep human connections, and sharing your heart with those who share theirs with you. Being a good wedding photographer is about making a "business decision" that is not the most profitable, but is the kind, and moral thing to do. In the end, being a good human is most important. I learned the importance of these values working with Jenna & Matt. Their wedding plans were in flux over a couple of years, due to the declining health of Jenna's beautiful mother, Melissa. Jenna & Matt organized a touching intimate commitment ceremony in the hospice sunroom, so Melissa could attend. It was truly an honour to photograph that poignant celebration. Although Melissa wasn't physically present for Jenna & Matt's eventual wedding day, her love filled the room and you could feel her presence in all the ways she touched her loved ones' lives. For me, being a good wedding photographer for Jenna & Matt wasn't really about taking photos of the sad moments, and the many happy ones. It was about being human. ❤️

"My (now) husband doesn't love getting his photos taken, so choosing a photographer that we both felt super comfortable with was our main priority. As soon as we met with Ben for the first time, we knew we had found the one.

We did an engagement shoot in the summer before the wedding which was also the first time we met him, and he was so great at getting us comfortable in front of the camera and the photos are STUNNING.

No matter how beautiful the engagement photos were though, nothing prepared me for the wedding photos. We didn't hire a second shooter, but somehow Ben must have been everywhere, all once because the sheer number of photos is wild, but I think we have a photo of every. single. guest. He knew that family was our main priority, and my goodness did he deliver.

I can't believe how they turned out, and it's all because of how much attention he pays to his couples. We went through quite a lot between the engagement and the wedding, including both family and job loss, and Ben was incredibly kind, supportive, and accommodating when we needed him. At this point, I feel like he knows us as well as our friends do, and I think that's what you want in a photographer. It's definitely what we wanted."

There's something timeless about a black & white photograph. It's almost as though by stripping away the distraction of colour, you can see something in an image you couldn't see before, it feels more emotional, it feels like a moment frozen in time. I LOVE including many rich black & white images from every wedding in the client gallery, but don't highlight them here enough. What do you prefer?

I'm truly so grateful to get to document love stories, like Kelsey & Kaitlin's wedding. We spent the unseasonably sunny, warm weather on the edge of Lake Ontario. They wrote some kind words about their experience in a review: "The thought of being romantic in front of a photographer had us both very nervous, but Ben put us immediately at ease. I’m honestly shocked at how easily it came to us both when it came to taking these photos, and he and his method get all the credit for that. The photos we’ve gotten back have us both looking completely relaxed and at ease so that the love we feel for each other is all that shines through (rather than the anxiety we were expecting). Everything comes across very natural and not overly posed, while maintaining expert composition." 🥰🥰🥰

I don't talk about engagement sessions here enough, but I truly can't recommend them enough. Here's a few reasons why:
1. Practice. You'll feel way more comfortable during your wedding portrait session when you've already been through a practice run with your photographer. Plus, we'll become friends through the process, so you got a pal showing up to photograph your wedding.
2. Control. For your engagement session, we can control the location, season, weather, and time of day. Without working within the constraints of your wedding timeline, there is more room for creativity, experimentation, and finding a rhythm during your session.
3. Connection. After spending an hour cuddling, kissing, and laughing with your bae (are we still using 'bae'?), you'll leave your session feeling extra connected to each other.

Did you do engagement photos? Tell me why you would or wouldn't recommend it.
