It’s open mic night! You asked and I’m answering. Here are the TOP 3 questions I get planning a destination wedding.

1. How do we choose the right destination for our wedding?
Start by considering the overall experience you want for yourselves and your guests. Think about the climate, local culture, and activities available in potential destinations. Consider accessibility and travel costs for your guests, as well as the availability of wedding venues and vendors that meet your vision and budget. This is where a destination wedding specialist can offer insights into different locations and help narrow down your choices.

2. How far in advance should we start planning our destination wedding?
Ideally, start planning your destination wedding at least 12 to 18 months in advance. This allows ample time to research and secure your preferred venue, book travel and accommodations, and give your guests enough notice to make their travel arrangements. Early planning also increases the likelihood of getting your desired wedding date and helps you lock in better rates.

3. How do we manage our wedding budget effectively when planning a destination wedding?
Begin by setting a clear budget that includes all potential expenses, such as travel, accommodation, venue, catering, and entertainment. Yes, the photos and videos of that resort in Jamaica look beautiful, and you can blissfully daydream about being there. But taking your ___ destination wedding from a blissful daydream to reality is a LOT of work.

🔎The Research - Hello, Google Rabbit hole, and hours and hours are spent trying to find the right information to get your group block booked. 💻 Booking the trip - You have 17 tabs open on your computer. Is this the right resort? How will you get from the airport to the hotel? Do you need to pre-book your tours and excursions for family and friends? ✈️ The little details - You want it to come together seamlessly, but it’s just so much work, and keeping track of everything isn’t easy, how do you know you haven’t forgotten something important?
