Meeting the Aesme Studio sisters was like meeting Beyoncé for us—we totally had a fangirl moment! When we arrived, we got to hang out with the other workshop attendees, which was super exciting because we met people from Ukraine and Australia. We thought we were the only ones who had traveled so far, but it was awesome to see so many fellow flower lovers from around the world. Even though we all had different backgrounds and goals, our shared love for flowers and seasonal blooms brought us together.
Since teaming up with Yuki, we’ve made a few tweaks to how we do things, like using reusable materials and cutting back on imported flowers. These changes might seem small, but they make a big difference in our work. Personally, this is my ninth year in the flower industry, and in the past year, I’ve finally found my style. I like to call it wild at heart but romantic in design. For weddings, we specialize in creating a naturalistic garden vibe with a touch of romantic flair to celebrate love.
This style has its challenges, and I sometimes doubt myself when I see weddings loaded with imported flowers and roses. But taking this class and meeting other flower enthusiasts who share my vision really boosts our confidence and reinforces our love for a naturalistic style.
