This week's Featured Musician is MEDEVIL'S lead guitarist Gary Cordsen. Gary's guitar playing is pure perfection, dynamic rhythms and scorching hot lead riffs that are fundamental in Medevil’s songs. Gary and the guys hit it hard live and are a must see just for their killer musicianship.

Hailing from Chilliwack, BC, Canada | Energetic, fast paced, and prog-infused metal; Medevil captures the essence of what makes the classic 80s heavy metal acts great, and throws it on its head injecting interesting twists into their riffing. In the summer of 2015 they competed in the Wacken Metal Battle Canada placing as one of the National Finalists, turning many heads towards this group.

I'm hurt, I'm old, I'm tired, and I work with fu***ng legends.

I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in making Glacial Mutilation Metal Festival 2025 such a monumental event. It was an absolute honour to be able to host something as special as this. From top to bottom, every band was absolutely incredible and all contributed greatly to making Glacial Mutilation something everyone will remember for years to come.

When I started doing this years ago I never would have expected that legendary bands like Bonded By Blood or Exist would ever be a part of this. I'm so proud of how this fest has grown, what started as something that was just a way to have fun and celebrate the anniversary of my first show has become something that I truly feel has made an impact on our underground music community.

Thank you to all the bands, all the vendors, all the media team, all the volunteers, all the crew at The Wise Hall & Lounge, all of the wonderful fans, and especially thank you to the border guards for allowing every band to cross into the country so the fest could happen (except those guards who gave Dawn of Ouroboros and Celestial Wizard a hard time, friends off)

Now I must ask, who was your favourite band of the weekend? And who do you want to see on next year's lineup? 👀

It feels like a good time to make this clear. This community has many trans and otherwise q***r members onstage, behind the scenes, and in the audience. The scene is richer for it.
There is a lot that could be said but the main thing is this- You are welcome here and we will do what we can to keep you safe.
We realize some may currently feel emboldened to express hatred on this matter. Let it be known that we absolutely do not tolerate that. Those bringing bigotry to our events will be ejected.
