Course Closure Update: High Winds at McCleery and Fraserview

Due to high winds, we have closed McCleery and Fraserview Golf Courses for the day (Saturday, December 14).

Here's what you need to know:

McCleery: The course is closed, but the driving range is open for now. Please note, the range may close if there is a loss of power or conditions worsen.

Fraserview: The course is now closed. The range will remain open until 5pm. Last balls at 4:15. If the winds pick up the range may be will closed early.

Langara Golf Course remains open, but conditions are being monitored.

We will provide updates as the weather changes. Thank you for your understanding and stay safe!

Frost reminder for our championship courses:

As the cooler weather sets in, we’d like to remind you about our frost policy.

⛳ In the event of frost, play will begin at the designated tee times on temporary greens, unless the golf course is deemed unplayable.
Temporary Greens golf rates:
0-6 temporary greens: Full price
7-18 temporary greens: Twilight rate

Scheduled Software Update Alert: We will be performing a scheduled software update for the tee sheet and point of sale systems at Fraserview, McCleery, and Langara Golf Courses.

Here’s what you need to know:

When: Overnight on Wednesday, December 4

Impacts: There will be no ability to book tee times from 5 pm until midnight on Wednesday, December 4. Please allow extra time to check in for your round on Thursday, December 5 as the update may take longer than expected.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our systems and ensure a better experience for all golfers.

The sun is out this morning, and this weekend is your last chance to golf at Rupert Park pitch & putt! Grab your clubs and get in a final round before the season wraps up – last day to play at Rupert Park is Monday, November 18.

Queen Elizabeth and Stanley Park pitch & putts will stay open until November 24 to keep the season going a little longer. ⛳️

🌧️⛳ Weather Update: Due to heavy rainfall and strong winds, the Championship courses are currently open but operating on temporary greens. Watch for further updates if the weather worsens.

Fraserview and McCleery Clubhouses will be closed today. The Langara Clubhouse will remain open with limited hours.

Winter Hours and Time Change:

With the start of November and the clocks changing on November 3, our golf operations will adjust to accommodate the shorter daylight hours.

- As of November 1 the championship course clubhouses will be open from 10 am to 2 pm daily (weather permitting).

- As of November 1, early morning back 9 play will be available seven days a week on the championship courses.

- Starting on November 3, the first tee time at Fraserview, McCleery and Langara will be 8 am through the winter months. Twilight rates will begin at 12 pm.

- The pitch and putts will be open 10 am to 5 pm daily starting on November 1.

A big thank you to all our golfers for making the 2024 summer season a fantastic one! As the seasons shift, we're hoping for more good golf weather and look forward to seeing you out on the courses this winter too.

✅ Fraserview Golf Course is open and operating as usual.

✅ Langara Golf Course will be open to regular greens at the start of the day.

❌ McCleery Golf Course will be closed today due to high water throughout the course. However, the driving range remains open.

❌ The clubhouses are closed for the weekend.

Staff will continue to monitor conditions closely and announce any further updates through the VanGolf app and Vancouver Parks Golf social media channels.

Back 9 play is available Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, except during aeration (Sep 9 – 11). We appreciate your patience as our irrigation pumps were repaired.

⛳️ The countdown is on! The Odlum Brown Vancouver Open, presented by Maui Jim Canada and Vancouver Parks Golf, will take place at Fraserview, McCleery, and Langara Golf Courses starting next week. The tournament will begin with the fundraising Pro-Am presented by Maui Jim on Wednesday, August 21, at Fraserview Golf Course. A team of amateurs will join a top young professional or elite amateur to raise funds for the Vancouver Golf Tournament Player Development Fund. This fund supports aspiring young professional, amateur, and junior golfers by helping to alleviate the costs of tournament entry fees, travel, and training as they advance toward becoming champions on larger stages. McCleery and Langara will host the first and second tournament rounds on Friday, August 23 and Saturday, August 24. Fraserview will be host the final round on Sunday, August 25. Langara Aeration

Langara aeration is underway and will be completed by noon on Wednesday. Fraserview and McCleery were done a week and three weeks ago, respectively, and are back in great shape.
