Canadian Memorial United Church

Canadian Memorial United Church Open-hearted, open-minded, Affirming. We seek to be an inclusive and progressive Christian church. Are you a seeker? Do you ask tough questions?

Are you spiritual but not religious? Christian but not dogmatic? Open to others but sure there is more to life than materialism? Touched with awe by the beauty of the world and moved to grief over the horror and suffering? Are you straight, straight(ish), cis-gendered and/or LGBTQIA2S+ and want to worship where you can feel authentic? Then come and tap into something greater than us. In the Christ

ian tradition, God is found in relationship with one another and with the world. We practice evolutionary Christian spirituality which means we see our connection to all life. Time together in Church brings us prayerful practice, a sense of connection with the Divine and with each other, and the opportunity to be filled with Spirit. You'll find spiritual practices, an amazing variety of music to move you, a stunning worship space, programs to develop your own spiritual gifts, outreach to help those in need, and community. We are an Affirming congregation, and all are truly welcome. Our worship service is every Sunday at 10:30am (Pacific).

Our Story

Open-minded, open-hearted Christianity

We are an inclusive and progressive Christian church in Vancouver, BC, where we worship and practice an open-hearted, open-minded faith that takes Scripture and the message of Jesus seriously, but not literally.

As an Affirming congregation, we are committed to working for the full inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We celebrate the God-given diversity of our humanity in ability, age, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, and sexual orientation. Read more about what it means for us to be Affirming.

God’s story is the story of all Creation, and we believe we are kin with all Creation so we care deeply about the ecological stewardship of the earth. In our faith, God lovingly gestures us forward to create a new and vibrant world of peace, love and justice.
