Hyacinth: another flower thought of at springtime, hyacinth are a fun bulb flower. Perhaps the most scented flower we carry, these can be found in our cooler in late winter and early spring. They range in colour from yellows to pinks (pictured) to bluish-purple which is the most common colour we carry.

Our tulips come with a special care card including information about helping them to not droop. Tulips come in different varieties and many different colours. They have a short to medium lifespan

While we are closed today, here is your Flower Facts Friday Iris: Typically thought of as a spring flower, our blue iris can be ordered in advance for special occasions. These have a shorter lifespan and are one of our few naturally occurring blue flowers. They have little to no scent and typically come with one bloom per stem. While iris do come in many other varieties and colours, it’s rare to see in our shop.

Flower Facts Friday Scabiosa: sometimes called pincushion flower (not to be confused with pincushion protea) is mostly scentless. This flower has medium to short longevity. The most commonly seen colours are white, lavender and pink but as seen here, they do come in some other colours as well. Some varieties dry nicely into pods.

Flower Facts Friday Ornithogalum: Commonly referred to as Star of Bethlehem this long lasting flower starts it's life from a bulb. The most common colours to see this mostly scentless flower in are white and orange. If cared for properly, these flowers can last 3-6 weeks!

Bupleurum: This green-yellow cut stem is sometimes considered a flower, sometimes a greenery because of its colouration. This mostly seasonal cut is of a medium lifespan with little to no fragrance.

Flower Facts Friday Astilbe: A seasonal favorite! Astilbe, which can be referred to as False Goat’s Beard is a pluming flower with a shorter lifespan. They come in a variety of colours, mainly white, pink and red. With little to no fragrance these feathery plumes of flowers add a soft texture to floral arrangements.

Flower Facts Friday Statice: Another Variety of Sea Lavender, this one comes in more colours than our limonium. Colours frequently seen are white, purple, pink and yellow. These flowers have a long lifespan, but a misleading crisp texture
