The summer drought wreaked havoc on our garden. A few of my dahlias have just started blooming!! I’ve also decided to leave my tubers in the ground this winter and hope for the best🤞🏻

Best $7.00 I’ve spent in a long time!! My garden sweet peas were a fail this year, so I’m thankful for and their beautiful sweet peas. Loving the purples!! 💜

My nigella patch happily self seeded itself from last year. I had no idea it would come back so perfectly when I planted my garlic in the same patch last fall. They seem to be getting along just fine, although my garlic is a little small. But I’m blaming that on the soil not on the nigella! 😊 I also tried sprinkling my saved nigella seed in various places, and none of it is doing as well as the self seeded patch. Every year we learn something new in the garden.

Today the stars aligned, our new metal table base was delivered and my new pottery plates were ready for pick up!! I’m so ready to host my parents this weekend. Family dinners, here we come!!✨

As much as I didn’t want to, I had to cut these Astrancia from my garden before the deer got them!! Buggers have been making daily rounds mostly enjoying the brassica patch, but not much I can do until we are fully fenced one day.

Who loves lazy weekends? I do!! Yesterday morning I woke up and stayed in bed to read a good book, and that doesn’t happen often. It felt great. But don’t worry, there is always lots of work getting done around here too😉

Happy Easter friends! It’s only taken me fourteen years to finally make naturally dyed eggs with my kids. Well actually I did most of the work but it was still fun!! My favourite are the turmeric (dark yellow), black tea (dark brown) and the dried marigolds (turned green over night) 🐰

Finally got rid of the Christmas greens on our table and replaced them with some dried statice and strawflowers from last summer. This is the time of year when dried flowers come in handy!! What’s on your table these days?
