Some folks have been inquiring about our CSA’s (bouquet subscription program) and Valentines offerings for this season and the truth is, we are doing neither!

There are several markets and workshops planned and will share some more info very soon. The season is just starting and I’m looking forward to connecting with new folks and catching up with familiar faces. The best way keep up to date on where to find Flowerface is by signing up for our newsletter.

In the meantime, I’ll be celebrating Valentines with my love, a rarity in the flower trade! He does so much for Flowerface, from building infrastructure and helping on projects to plant sitting, moving big things and feeding me in the heat of summer, I’m so very grateful for him. He’s pictured at the farm last summer when he popped in after work to help with something or other.

Winter projects ❄️
Every year hundreds of flowers from the fields are carefully dried to preserve colour for the darker months. Some varieties of flowers are grown especially for this purpose. Dried flowers are having a moment right now and I’m so here for it because, look at these colours!

We have a limited number of holiday wreaths in our online shop for pre-order!
There are a few different colour options in designs suitable for both front and apartment doors.
All wreaths are made on sustainable evergreen bases with a unique mix of farm grown flowers, foliage, grasses and berries.
Wreaths will be ready for pick-up or delivery first week of December in Victoria.

And just like that, the farm is flat.
We have a huge amount of perennials here and it’s always a huge task to cut them down for the winter. It definitely felt good to get this fall task checked of the list!
Next up, the dahlias! But for the moment they are still happily blooming away…

Come join us this Sunday, August 11th, for a workshop in Central Saanich!
We’ll get hands-on with farm fresh flowers and learn to make a spiral bouquet with vibrant seasonal blooms as we sip delicious, locally made wine.
It’s going to be a gorgeous mid-summer evening celebrating the bounty of Southern Vancouver Island!

✶ WORKSHOPS ARE NOW LIVE ON THE SITE ✶

We’re hosting several workshops on the farm this summer! The first ones are coming up quick. All workshops are on Sunday evenings and cover a range of different floral styles using fresh flowers from the farm. We’ve also got two workshops happening which we’re pretty excited about! Local wine and flowers? Yes please.
Looking forward to sharing the floral bounty of the season with you in these hands-on workshops.

Wedding season is coming up quick and we’re so excited to be creating beauty for couples this season with our seasonal farm grown blooms.
We just got these photos in from a July wedding last year. This couple paired a custom made bridal bouquet with our DIY bulk buckets to create their own florals on the tables under that dreamy lantern canopy.

~ ANNUAL DAHLIA TUBER SALE ~
Hello! Our dahlia shop is now open and stocked with this year’s selection of dahlias tubers and a few of our favourite perennials, all lovingly grown on the farm.
Dahlias make great additions to the garden, provide multiple strong stems for maximum impact bouquets, are the cutest bees for sleepy bees in the evening and I’m pretty sure frogs love them as much as I do!

Yesterday was the yearly hydrangea prune! This daunting task is made so much easier and laugh filled when I’m joined by my wonderful friends and coworkers , & Kat! Swipe through to the end to see the billowy clouds of blooms that make this yearly prune so worth it!

We had an amazing season here at Flowerface! Which of course was not without its Ups, several gorgeous new-to-us varieties, and Downs, hello May heatwave. We also moved the farm last year which made this our second first year on new land. But all in all it was wonderful for many reasons, great new land and land owners, designing for several weddings and taking part in business mentorship program. Which is all to say that after a much needed rest over the holidays, planning is in full swing for this season’s gorgeous new crops, weddings and workshops.

Last August came and photographed the farm and I feel so lucky to have these photos as a wonderful snapshot in time because the farm has already transformed so much since then!
So here’s to 2024 I can’t wait to share this beauty with you!
