We’re regularly receiving soooo many beautiful wedding dresses in the shop so I wanted to post a few! These gorgeous gowns range in size from 8-24 (six dresses are sized 18-24 *and I’m still always on the look out for a plus sized mannequin to showcase them)

It’s been a while since we’ve posted our ‘Feature Fridays’…. photos of some of the 150+ wedding dresses we have for sale!

When you’re shopping for a consignment dress we don’t want you to feel like your dress is any less beautiful or special than a brand new dress which is why we are so particular about the gowns we accept for sale! Our shop is bright, clean, and welcoming to everyone. We love playing dress up and helping you find your dream wedding dresses!

All of our gowns are within three years old and newer, they’ve been worn for 4-6 hours and have been professionally cleaned. We’ve been told countless times that we’ve got the most stunning and up to date styles and it shows when we sell a dress at almost every appt!

We stock sizes 0-24 and they are priced at $500-$2500 with most falling in the $800-$1800 range.

When you buy a second hand gown, you’re supporting a small local business, you’re putting some money back in a past bride’s pocket, and you’re keeping textile waste out of the landfills. On top of all of that, our gowns are typically half the cost of new so you’re also saving money 🖤

Just wanted to pop on and say a big thank you to all of our sellers!! Without you we don’t have a business!!

Shannon has been selling dresses while I’ve been away for the past couple of weeks in the UK taking a course on corset making from actual master corsetiers 🖤 I’ve always known pattern drafting, how to fit and structure bodices, but this is a whole other beast! Learning from the best is a dream come true. I can’t wait to bring this new knowledge back home so I can create some beautiful well structured corsets and corset style bodices to have available for order from our little shop!

The last photo is the creepy and cool old manor we are staying at- reminds me a lot of The Shining 😉

Shannon and I have had an amazing few weeks off and can’t wait to get back to the shop on Monday Jan 13th when we reopen for 2025! We’ve got sooooo many gorgeous gowns!! We stock current styles (three years old and newer) dresses sized from 0-24. Our gowns are priced between $500-$3500 with most falling in the $800-$1800 range. We do have a small rack of $500 or less so if your budget is under $500 get in touch with Shannon at 250-514-0057 to arrange a 45 min appt rather than booking online!

I wanted to pop on and make a post about pricing. We are seeing an influx of drop offs for consignment right now (two to five dresses per day) and I’m noticing a lot of our sellers are wanting to price their gowns too high. I realize there are emotional attachments to wedding dresses and you’ve paid a lot of money for the dress. On top of that it’s typically $600-$800 in alterations to make it fit, but honestly, none of that matters to a buyer. Unless they are your exact size and height they often also need alterations to make the dress fit them too.

Weddings are expensive! If you can save some cash buying a second hand wedding dress (it’s essentially new- it’s been worn for six hours, then professionally dry cleaned) then why not! Some of our clients can’t afford brand new. Others can afford brand new but refuse to pay brand new prices for a dress you wear once. Consignment brides aren’t willing to pay near full price for a preloved dress.

Often, if you price your dress too high it doesn’t sell. We have to find a bride who not only LOVES your dress, but also FITS your dress. Wedding dresses lose value fast. You have about three years to sell because the styles and trends change so quickly. Every season that it doesn’t sell the value drops significantly.

We strive to get our sellers the most money back for their gowns (which is also why we give the highest percentage back than any other consignment shop on the island). We also love helping our buyers find the perfect gown for their special day and we want them to get a great deal on it!

When Shannon or I take in your dress spend a few minutes and chat with one of us about pricing. We do this every day and we love moving the gowns while they’re still on trend and priced fairly!
