To Our Beloved Grid Community,
This message is from me — Geoff Eisfeld — the founder, the builder, and the heart behind The Grid and now Metahus.
For years, I believed I could build something better. A space where kids could come alive. Where families could connect. Where learning didn’t feel like work — it felt like wonder.
Every month, every year, every penny we earned — it all went back into the business. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to. Because every time a child laughed in VR, every time a teen lit up with inspiration, every time a parent said “thank you” — it reminded me why I started this in the first place.
I never set out to just run a business. I set out to change what was possible for kids, especially those who don’t always fit the mold.
Yes, we've had setbacks.
Yes, we’ve made promises we couldn’t always keep.
Yes, we lost Grid North — and with it, a piece of our dream.
Then we lost our home, many of our belongings both personal and business.
And yes… we let many people down. And for that, I am truly sorry.
I know many of you were excited, hopeful, and counting on us — and when that location fell through, it left a gap. A silence. A sense of "what now?"
The last few months brought uncertainty. Doubt. Even loss. There were moments where I questioned everything. But if you know me — if we’ve ever spoken at an event, or you’ve watched me guide your child through a VR experience — you know I don't quit. I refuse to.
What fuels me is the interaction — the moment a kid lights up with joy or focus or confidence. That’s what kept me going then, and it’s what drives me now.
So here we are.
After months of regrouping, we are finally shifting forward.
We have officially opened a new location in South Whitby, just one block west of our original home. We’ve launched programs with Ontario Tech University, partnered with CAMDA Sports in Oshawa, and are running immersive tech camps all July, plus evening gaming/VR sessions and weekend events that are unlike anything else in Durham.
Since September, our CAMDA location has quietly been growing — hosting incredible birthdays, launching a full month of programs with Autism Ontario, and proving that our mission still matters.
And through all of this, Metahus was born — a new chapter, but the same mission:
Tech for Good. Connection for Real. Experiences that Matter.
We are here for the neurodivergent learners.
For the kids with ADHD who need something more than trampolines.
For the creators, gamers, thinkers, movers — the ones ready to explore the future, now.
All past Grid credits and pre-sale purchases are still being honored. That’s a promise.
One way or another, I want to ensure that everyone who supported us, gets their money's worth in service, time and product from us.
This summer, we’re not looking back.
We’re letting go of what didn’t work, and pouring our energy into what we have right now:
A fresh, focused direction.
Spaces filled with passion and purpose.
A team committed to creating magic.
And me — still here, still building, and more driven than ever.
It’s time to get back to doing what we do best:
Inspiring kids. Supporting families. And showing the world how powerful these experiences can be.
If you believed in us then — come see what we’ve become.
If you’re just discovering us now — welcome to the movement.
With renewed energy and unwavering heart,
Geoff Eisfeld
