For something truly memorable (that you don't want to include in the programs), pen a letter to those closest to you, whether it's your mother and father or even a special aunt, uncle, or friend, and leave it on their chair pre-ceremony.

Thank them for helping you get to where you are, and share any thoughts about what it means to have them there. Make your day extra sentimental for the ones you ❤

A little bit of trivia today!

There have been some unusual laws created concerning marriage.
A 1775 law stated that young women could not be married wearing any makeup.

Makeup was considered ensnarement. If used, the wedding would not be legal because the groom would have been trapped by the illusion of makeup.

This little bit of trivia was brought to you by The Wedding Guide WindsorIEssex County where we have helped over 38,000 brides marry.

Wedding Tip of the day,

Planning your reception is exciting but the wedding ceremony ultimately holds the greatest significance for brides and grooms. Keep your nuptials personal and special by honouring your roots with family traditions.

Spend some time with your officiant and consider writing a portion of your vows. Without the ceremony, your day would be just a party!

Wedding Tip of the Day,

Weddings are an important milestone in family life. Wedding portraiture is one of the most significant wedding customs that has thrived and survived into the 21st century. It's a time-honoured tradition and, it is these images that will be among your most cherished possessions throughout your married life.

Don't err on the side of politeness or economy when relatives or friends volunteer to take your photographs. Consider a professional photographer who thoroughly understands lighting and who is skilled at creatively capturing the tender and joyful moments of your wedding and reception.

You can't go back and redo your day. Trust your memories to a professional photographer.

Traditionally, you get married with your guests all seated behind you. Unfortunately, they miss out on the best part, seeing your faces as you say your vows to one another.

Give your guests a better view of the action by arranging the chairs in a full circle or semicircle surrounding you and your groom.

Dealing with a larger guest list? Set up several concentric rings of chairs, or for short vows, you can do an inner circle of seated guests and an outer one of folks who stand.

Wedding Tip of the Day:

Today’s couples can host their beautiful beginning in whatever way they feel comfortable; from intimate and beautifully appointed small spaces to lavish venues.

The essence of your wedding day is as unique as who you are as a couple. It’s your day to bring family and friends together to celebrate your togetherness and your love and commitment to each other.

It’s where you create the first of a lifetime of precious memories to have and to hold and cherish for always.

Take the time to really articulate and communicate your thoughts to one another, about what style of the wedding day will make you happy.

Designate a budget, and a theme, and find the professionals to bring your dreams to reality.

And remember that your happily ever after is different from your friends, so do it your way with your style and love the results.

Pantone's Colour of the Year
Pantone 17-1230 mocha mousse was selected as Pantone’s 2025 color of the year.

"Underpinned by our desire for every day pleasures, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence.

Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe," said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director Pantone Color Institute.
