3 things we will ALWAYS make time for during your newborn session:

1. Time to take care of your baby and yourself.
Your needs and the baby’s during our session is my first priority. There is never a need to feel rushed when doing a feeding, diaper change or just soothing your baby. Not to mention room if you need a few more moments to pamper yourself. We also can take water and snack breaks for anyone who needs it (dads you know you love the snackie breaks too!). In these moments feel free to pass baby off to me or put baby down if you need. Our bodies are still healing and I am here to make our time together one we can get through comfortably. With me there is no rush. I leave 1-3 hours for a session. I have heard of photographers who are able to shoot a newborn sessions in and out in an hour or under and that is incredible !!! Aside from being behind the camera, I am a mom to three earth babies and my post partum days were difficult. I know how hard getting a shower or hair brushed can be. I leave that time open incase we need it, for many of the reasons listen above.

2. Your baby and your families safety
With over 10 years of experience handling newborns, on top of being a mom and a mom to baby with some special medical needs. Keeping your baby comfortable & safe in the poses and directions I give is SO important. I have spent a lot of time taking workshops with known photographers & training in this area alone. With the knowledge and confidence to help guide your family through the poses, we can achieve heart warming, beautiful imagery in a safe space.

3. Embracing your journey
If you don’t know now you know, your girl here loves to talk. But I am here with an open heart and ears to listen to your story too. Meeting with & connecting with clients in some of the most vulnerable moments of their life has opened up some of the most beautiful friendships I have to date. The journey you are in is ever changing & when we come together for a newborn session it’s to celebrate all that got you to that moment & what is about to come. The more I get to know your family, the more of your story I can tell.

Take your time, after all this moment is fleeting.

Thought it was time to share one of the most stunning maternity sessions I did last month. Brunet Park is one of, if not THE most popular spots for sessions during the fall. You can clearly see why here. It’s always so much fun seeing all the photographers out and about. You can always expect me to pump you or your clients up when I walk on by. If you see me don’t be afraid to say hi either. 99% of the time my glasses are off and I’m blind as a bat 🤣 so if I don’t say hi or see you, I promise it’s not on purpose. During the summer and fall I always end up staying wayyyy longer and chatting a photog friends ear off. This night I got to meet a beautiful family who was out for a walk with their Brittany Spaniel, turns out it’s one of Denver’s relatives 👌🏼👌🏼 how cool is that!?

In the last two weeks I have walked over 100k steps in NYC, survived the flu, a 48 hour stomach bug then ran through our whole house, teething, prepping for and celebrating a one year olds big birthday party! On top of all that we had sessions, back to back weddings (another double weekend this weekend), soccer, my big kids work, a fractured finger, school starting and meet the teachers! Today also marks the first 24 hours that Ella has been med free since she was two weeks old. We have successfully weaned her off of everything ! Wooooo! I felt super defeated lately with everything on my plate until I just read everything we conquered the last 14 days or so. Holy smokes look what we did and survived 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 What have you conquered lately!?!?

This was a super special session for me. 🤍 Mom & I shared some stories together and when I had the chance to go back and edit the images, I cried when I edited the last picture in this set. I lead my sessions with my heart, actually each of my client relationships as well. As I have said before, with each session I edit I leave a piece of me with it. It’s so important to me to allow my clients to feel safe and have trust in me to document their family with intention, care and delivery quality art. In a sea of many photographers, I hope you take the time to find one who you can invest in, who can provide you with an experience where you feel fulfilled and not just feel like you left a business transaction. After all, photographs are meant to make you feel and remember things long after you have forgotten.
